Patriots’ Prayers for 11-8-2015

This Week’s Prayer (based on 2 Samuel 22: 2-4)

Father in Heaven, You are our rock and our fortress. You are our deliverer, our God, in whom we find refuge, our shield, and the horn of our salvation, our stronghold and our refuge, our savior; You save us from violence. We call upon You, our LORD, who are worthy to be praised, and are saved from our enemies, and from the schemes of the Evil One.

Our enemies, who reject You and embrace the worldly system ruled by the Evil One, are many, and clever, and seem to multiple each day. Much of the daily news is ripe with their deeds, which are sickening and discouraging. Morality, good and evil, right and wrong, those absolute truths that You have revealed to us, have been perverted, with wrong being declared right, and good being declared evil. But You are the Creator, the Sustainer, and the Redeemer. In You, we find the strength and courage we need to persevere during these evil times.

Forgive us for our wrongs, save us, have mercy on us, and bless us. Treat us not as we deserve, but according to Your loving kindness and tender mercy. We confess the Lordship of Jesus Christ over every aspect of our lives, health, hearts, minds, bodies, souls and spirits, and we we confess the Lordship of Jesus Christ over our nation.

It is in the Name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, that we pray. Amen.

Pray for America

For Forgiveness and Repentance

Save and protect, O Lord, these United States of America and have mercy on us. As a nation, we have turned our backs on you and have sinned. We have allowed our God-given liberties to be taken away. We have allowed the epidemic of abortion to fester out of control. We have allowed prayer to be eliminated from our schools, and Your Word and commandments to be banned from our public squares. We have allowed Your place in our nation’s history to be erased from our textbooks and our minds. We have turned our backs on Your teachings. We no longer look to You and Your Word for our standards of right and wrong, replacing those absolute truths with the whim of our own opinions.  We have allowed decadence and depravity of all sorts to become public and commonplace. Common decency has become a thing of the past. We confess these and all our sins to You and ask forgiveness for ourselves and our nation. Bring us to a state of true repentance – a returning to You – as both individuals and as a nation. We confess Your lordship over every aspect of our lives and our nation. Help us to follow You once again. Restore your mercy and blessings to these United States of America, and re-establish a hedge of protection around us. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

Against Demonic Influence

Almighty God, who delivered Your people from the bondage of the adversary, and through Your Son cast down Satan like lightning, deliver these United States of America also from every influence of the unclean spirits. Command Satan to depart far from these United States by the power of Your only begotten Son. Rescue this nation and its peple from demonic delusion and darkness. Fill the American people with the light of the Holy Spirit that we may be guarded against the snares of the crafty demons. Grant that angels always watch over our nation and lead us to the path of righteousness forever, to the honor of Your glorious name, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, now and ever and to the ages of ages. Amen.

For Our Government Officials

Save, O Lord, and have mercy upon all leaders, politicians, and civil authorities of these United States of America. I especially hold up to you President Barack Obama, Vice-President Joe Biden, Chief Justice John Roberts, House Speaker Paul Ryan, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. I also pray for all the President’s Cabinet members and advisers,  the associate judges of the Supreme Court, all federal, state, and local judges, all members of the House of Representatives and Senate, as well as all governors, state legislators, and local authorities. Grant them wisdom in their duties and decisions, and have them serve Your Will in all things. Block all of their plots and schemes that run counter to Your good and perfect Will, or that threaten the inalienable rights You have given to us. (Additionally, please feel free to pray by name for any elected officials at any level, especially those with jurisdiction over your locality.)

For the Church in America

Remember, O Lord, Your Church, which You purchased with Your precious blood – protect it, strengthen it, and multiply it. Keep Your Church in peace, and bring to naught all plots and threats against Your Church. Have mercy, O Lord, upon the whole clergy of Your Church, and grant them the courage, wisdom, and strength needed to boldly preach and do Your Will during these perilous times.  (Please pray by name for your church, your pastor or priest, and fellow church members.)

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Additional Prayers

  •  Save, O Lord, and have mercy upon the old, the young, the unborn, the needy and poor, the orphans and widows, the sick, the disabled, the oppressed and the imprisoned. Especially have mercy on those suffering for Your sake.
  • Grant, O Lord, blessings and mercies to all current and former members of our armed forces. Save them, protect them, and keep them safe.
  • Bless, O Lord, and have mercy on those who serve as police officers, fire fighters, paramedics, and other first responders.
  • Save, O Lord, and have mercy upon the State of Israel. Shield it with Your love, protect it, and let it know peace. Send Your light and wisdom to its leaders, and direct them with Your good counsel.

Special Prayer Request

Please pray for God’s mercy and healing on the five Americans being held hostage in Iran. Pray for them to have the courage and strength they need to survive their ordeal. Pray that their captivity quickly come to an end, and that they return safely home very soon. Pray also for God to provide comfort and mercy to their families and friends.

Siamak Namazi – an Iranian-American businessman arrested in late October while visiting relatives in Tehran. Details of his arrest are sketchy, and any charges have not been made public. However, it appears he was arrested by the intelligence division of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, and apparently is being held in Evin prison.
Saeed Abedini – the 35 year-old pastor, husband, and father of two, has been held prisoner in Iran since the summer of 2012. Abedini was visiting relatives and helping to establish an orphanage when he was arrested. His captors have recently subjected him to new harsh interrogations, including using a stun gun on him, and are threatening him with new charges and an even longer sentence.
Jason Rezaian – a 39 year-old journalist working for the The Washington Post as their bureau chief in Tehran, Iran was arrested on charges of espionage and propaganda on July 22, 2014.
Amir Hekmati – the 32 year-old former US Marine was visiting his grandmother and other relatives in Iran when he was arrested in 2011.
Robert Levinson – now 67, went missing while in Iran in 2007. In 2010, his family received proof that he was still alive and being held prisoner. According to the AP, there is reason to believe that Levinson, a former FBI and DEA agent, was working undercover for the CIA at the time of his disappearance.

Why Patriots’ Prayers?

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” –2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV)

The core idea of Patriots’ Prayers is to get Americans praying together, seeking forgiveness for our nation and turning back to God (repentance). Please pray these prayers throughout the week, and have others join you in praying. This week, please especially note the prayer request at the bottom of this list, as a fifth American has now been arrested and is being held by Iran.

shame

I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.

Jeremiah 23:14

The prima facie reason that I had supposed hearing about sin from a pulpit to be such a rare occurrence was that it was simply bad for business. If a pastor suspects the majority of his flock is given to one sin or another, he risks empty pews and fewer donations, should he choose to confront those sins. The congregants might as well find another church which will be content to let them wallow.

I remain convinced that full auditoriums and lavish salaries are major culprits in this willingness to be derelict in their duties, but after reading today’s verse and considering recent headlines, there may be more to it. The recent hack of Ashley Madison, a website designed for married people to have adulterous affairs, revealed that more than 400 pastors, deacons, and church leaders were using the site. Of course, it is the obvious outcome when 54% of pastors looked at porn in the last year.

There is a personal line of hypocrisy built into most of us. If a pastor is looking at porn, he is going to have a hard time telling you not to do it. If you are in a church that is not calling you to live a holy life, get out now. You are wasting your time. As I’ve said before, don’t take up fishing on Sunday instead, get on your knees and pray for God to lead you to the right church. He will.

If you are a man, you are a leader, even if it is only of your own household, so lead with integrity. Even if you are single, you are the leader of your home. You CANNOT afford to compromise your ability to lead by getting caught in sexual sin. If you are struggling with porn, the solution is the same as it is for all addictive behavior. Pray and FAST! By fasting, you are teaching your body, your very flesh, to say NO! to its most basic need, food. Fasting is an active way that you can take the steering wheel away from your flesh and put your spirit in control. Try doing without solid food for 24 hours. You’ll sense your flesh getting weaker and your spirit getting stronger. That is the key to having the power to overcome.

Ladies, porn might not be your weak spot, but you probably have issues with things that you know don’t please God as well. If it is something you have struggled with, over and over, and you can’t get victory, fasting will work for you also. Give it a try.

Come back every Sunday for a new Prepper Bible Study! The most important prep of all is knowing GOD. Jesus said “what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world yet loses his own soul?” Prepper translation: “What good will it do you to survive the coming economic collapse, nuclear war or even a zombie apocalypse if you don’t know you will go to heaven when you die.” A recent study found that 10 out of 10 people die! On that day we will meet our Maker. It only makes sense to be prepared for that day. Click here to learn more about knowing GOD.

Have a blessed day and happy prepping!

The Prepper’s Bookshelf: Review of Prepper’s Survival Hacks

Click here to view the original post.

Many preparedness books (mine included) are full of lists that tell you what supplies you need to survive a coming zombie apocalypse, an epic climate change flash freeze, or a plain old everyday power outage. It’s rare that you find a book that allows you to use things you’d normally throw away for survival purposes.

However, Prepper’s Survival Hacks by Jim Cobb is that rare exception to the preparedness book rule. You won’t find lists of extensive supplies or pricey gear.   Loaded with 50 do-it-yourself projects, this book has lists that read more like the contents of your trash can.

Review of Prepper’s Survival Hacks

Broken up into practical categories, the book contains projects relating to the following topics:

  • Water
  • Food Acquisition
  • Cooking
  • Fire
  • Lighting
  • Survival Kits

The thing I like best about the book isn’t just the projects, though. It’s the whole MacGuyver-style mindset. Jim makes it seem easy to create what you need from what you have. (I’m not the world’s handiest person, but I found the instructions super-easy to follow.)

We did one of the projects

A review of Prepper’s Survival Hacks wouldn’t be complete without trying out one of the projects, so in the spirit of really testing out the book, we made the “Buddy Burner”.

Prepper hack stove

Using a clean, empty cat food can, some old cardboard, some broken chunks of candle, and a couple of bricks that I grabbed from the garden, I made a nifty little stove. If I was doing more than testing how fast it could bring water to a boil, I would have used cookware that is designed to be used over an open fire, but for this quick test, I used my copper-bottomed stainless steel.

Did it work? Well, I timed it, and the Buddy Burner brought water to a boil on my counter in just over 3 minutes. To be exact:

water boiling

If you wanted more of a simmer than a boil, you could elevate your pan on another layer of bricks.  Pretty awesome, and all made from stuff that folks would normally throw away.

At less than $12, this small book would be an ideal reference to add you your bug-out bag. But more importantly, particularly for those who are new to the survival mindset, use it before disaster strikes and begin to train yourself to think outside the supply list.

I strongly encourage you to order Prepper’s Survival Hacks from Amazon. Jim is a very prolific author, but out of all of his very excellent books, this is my favorite, because it encourages the reader to get his or her hands dirty. With supervision, the projects in it are also great for kids. Not only will it teach them valuable survival skills, but it will help them to develop creative problem-solving skills. (We enjoy adding this kind of stuff to our homeschool curriculum.)

This one gets 5 stars from me!

The Smart And Simple Way To Pickle Hot Peppers

The Smart And Simple Way To Pickle Hot Peppers

Fermented hot peppers offer a delicious tang and bite. The component capsaicin gives hot peppers their invigorating bite and it comes with health benefits, like boosting the body’s metabolism. It also produces an endorphin rush after the burning sensation passes.

Picking hot peppers directly from plants and using them in dishes is wonderful during the summer months, but how do you keep the delights of hot peppers around once the gardening and harvest seasons have ended? Fermentation, my friend.

Peppers Are Hot

Hot peppers are, well, hot, so it’s important to prepare properly before you begin processing them. Capsaicin is an oil, so water don’t clear it off of hands well. Instead, water tends to spread it around, causing the burning to be even worse. It’s easy to accidentally touch other things before your hands are completely free of the pepper oil and you can end up with your nose and eyes burning. Just imagine if you took a bathroom break partway through processing peppers.

So, protection beforehand is key. Cut up your peppers while wearing gloves. Don’t touch them to any part of your exposed skin (arms, eyes, etc.). You might spritz some oil on you and, of course, your skin will cry a little, but don’t, don’t, don’t scratch with your gloves. It will spread the burning. When done cutting, pull your gloves off carefully and put them promptly in the trashcan.

It’s also important to remember that hot peppers can cause issues with breathing. You can use a bandanna knotted around your mouth and nose to protect you, or better yet, pick up a disposable dust mask from the hardware store. If you are asthmatic or have other breathing issues, it might be better to consider asking someone else to process your hot peppers for you.

Make ‘Off-The-Grid’ Super Foods Just Like Grandma Made!

If you do get some pepper oil on you, which will invariably happen even with being careful, milk is the best remedy. Soak your fingers in milk and wash them slowly in it. If your nose burns, wad up a tissue, drench with milk, and stick it in your nose for about five minutes. Hold a tissue or paper towel drenched with milk onto any burning spots for a couple of minutes. The milk loosens the capsaicin and makes it easier to remove. Olive oil also works in a similar way. Whatever you do, don’t try to rub the burning spot with your fingers or wash with soap and water right away. The water feels cool at first, but tends to wash the burning around.

Starting the Fermentation

The Smart And Simple Way To Pickle Hot Peppers

Fermenting peppers is very simple. Start with a clean jar, preferably one with a large opening. You can also use a bowl. Wash your peppers. You can cut them in smaller pieces or leave them whole. I cut mine in half. If you leave them whole, they will still ferment, but it will take longer.

Once your jar or bowl is full, make up your salt-water brine: 1 pint (2 cups) of water to 1 and ¼ tablespoons of salt. Double this recipe as many times as you need to in order to get enough brine to thoroughly cover your peppers. Dissolve the salt entirely in the water. You can use heat to do this or just beat the water and salt with a whisk until the salt disappears. If you do use heat, make sure your brine has cooled down to room temperature before you proceed with the next step.

Could Famine And Hunger Come To America?

Pour your brine over your peppers. Fermentation takes place at room temperature, and so does mold growth. In order to keep your peppers from molding, you need to make sure they are completely submerged beneath the brine. Find a smaller jar or cup or canning weight and set this inside your jar of peppers. This needs to be heavy enough to keep your peppers from floating. Then fill the jar the rest of the way with brine. If you are able to, you can place a lid on your jar now. However, this isn’t necessary. As long as the peppers are submerged, they will be fine.

Place your jar in an out-of-the-way spot, but someplace you can check on it regularly. It can take anywhere from two to three weeks for the peppers to be ready. Check your peppers every day or so, especially if you have placed a lid on your jar as it will need burped (so it doesn’t explode). If scum appears at the top of your peppers, just skim it off with a spoon and make a little more brine to top the jar off with.

Then just wait and taste in about two to three weeks. Once the peppers are done fermenting, you can take out the weight, cap the jar and refrigerate. Fermented peppers last a long time in the refrigerator (three to six months or longer). Some people pour off the brine and boil it before pouring it back into the jar. It’s not necessary, but certainly okay. Or, instead, you can pour off the brine and cover your peppers in oil. You can add whatever spices in you wish as well. Some options are mustard seeds, turmeric, fenugreek seeds, sea salt, fresh-squeezed lemon juice, etc. The ideas are endless.

And now, the fun part: Enjoy!

Computer Failures, EMP and Other Infrastructure Collapses

infrastructure collapses

The electric grid

We have all heard about EMP, CMP, Cyber attacks on the electrical grid and computer failures.  In the last few days, several things have come to my attention that are relevant to these subjects and at the same time show how much we are dependent on electronic systems.  Infrastructure collapses in any of these areas either big or small can affect us.

Yesterday I spoke with a friend whose daughter is having some medical issues.  She had a number of tests including a colonoscopy, a upper GI and some blood test and a biopsy. Now normally you would hear back the results within a couple of days.  In this case, it has been about 3 weeks and they do not have the results due to the collapse of a computer system.  She said that the Doctor does not even know which lab the samples were sent too.  Now my friend does not fully understand the problem, but she knows that the test results have disappeared into limbo. They did not have a good backup plan for infrastructure collapses. Now this gives a taste of how large-scale infrastructure collapses would affect the medical community.

Let’s talk about EMP for a moment, On Oct 29, 2015 the White House Office of Science and Technology published its strategic plan to prepare for an extreme weather event in space that could destroy satellites, spacecraft, and vital telecommunications systems.  This is a plan that seems to center on developing early warning systems of CMP (a solar storm).

In addition it is my understanding that the Department of Homeland Security, in partnership with the Department of Energy, has been given 120 days (from the strategy plan’s publication date) to develop an “all-hazard Power Outage Incident Annex” that will include steps to respond and recover from an extreme solar surge, if one strikes.

Now I know that some of the power companies are working on various plans to prevent the electrical system from failing due to EMP, CMP or cyber attacks. Some information that I have received shows that they are making some progress.  At the same time the Center for Security Policy  is very concerned about the potential threats on infrastructure collapse.

My suggestion is to do two things, one assume that we will have infrastructure collapses and prepare accordingly.  The best technology of its day did not prevent Pearl Harbor.  Two, try not to become too dependent of technology without having a good backup plan for infrastructure collapses.

Howard.

What Are The Best Dog Breeds For Hunting? Our Top 10 Picks!

Click here to view the original post.

Best Dogs For All Hunting Types FinalHunting dog breeds are more varied than even some hunters might realize. There dozens of dogs that hunt with or for humans, falling into the following categories: hounds, gun dogs, feists, terriers, curs, and dachshunds.

While there are plenty of dogs that fall into some of these categories, we obviously can’t cover them all.  Below is our Top 10 picks for just about every type of hunting you can think of.

There are plenty of great hunting “Mutts” out there as well, but we are going to focus on the primary breeds that most Americans stick to when picking out their hunting dogs.

Hounds are assorted into sighthounds, scent hounds, and lurchers. Gun dogs include such breeds as retrievers, setters, spaniels, pointers, and water dogs.

Table of Contents:

Picking the best hunting dog breeds is no easy task, because the selection truly depends on many different factors. After careful consideration, we bring your our top 10 picks for best hunting dog breeds.

Best Hunting Dog For Waterfowl:  Labrador RetrieverBlack Lab Retrieving a Drake Gadwall

The Labrador Retriever is built for cold-water work, as duck hunters will tell you. It’s playful and athletic nature belies its abilities as a gun dog. Its weather-resistant, short coat both repels water and keeps the dog warm in the blind.

The Lab is capable of persisting for long hours under difficult conditions. Its powerful jaws lend to its capabilities as a retrieving gun dog, and in fact it is a skilled retriever both on land and in the water.

A dog with an even temper, the Labrador Retriever is a favorite of waterfowl hunters.  It’s also a great dog for beginners if you are a first time dog owner.

Top Quail & Pheasant Hunting Dog:  The English Springer Spaniel

deux english springer spaniel adulte marchant dans les champs

The English Springer Spaniel is a breed of gun dog that specializes in flushing and retrieving. Its compact body and strong, muscular legs give it the power and endurance to keep going even under trying hunting conditions.

The Springer Spaniel excels at seeking out and finding game, then driving it from hiding for its master. It’s said the name “springer” came from its ability to cause birds to spring into the air.

The working Springer Spaniel is a stable fellow, well balanced, and tends to have few health complaints. Hunters of quail, pheasant, and grouse frequently cite the English Springer Spaniel as their upland hunting breed of choice.

A Great All Around Hunting Dog:  The CoonhoundCoonhound Hunting

The Coonhound is a variety of scent hound, a dog that runs its game by scent alone. There are several breeds of coonhound, each suited to a specific hunting purpose.  They are great helpers if you are out there checking the field with your rangefinder, looking for large game.

It’s known in general as a courageous beast, which is why it’s frequently used in hunting for deer, bear, wolf, and cougar. Coonhounds are tough, agile creatures that give the impression of intense, unwavering alertness.

Every Coonhound, much like humans, has its own unique voice, and owners claim they can recognize the bay of their hound from as much as a mile away.

Coonhounds have a great deal of stamina and are capable of running for many miles when on the scent.

Top Pick for Small Game:  The BeagleOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The Beagle is a single-minded, determined, unshakeable animal when it is on the hunt. Originally bred for hare hunting, the Beagle is used today to track rabbit, deer, and other small game.

Its keen sense of smell is why you’ll see them used as detection dogs. Expert at driving prey toward the hunter, the Beagle is a persistent when tracking game, and its stamina sets it apart from a lot of other scent dogs as it will absolutely go the distance.

It’s alertness and intelligence make it a much desired dog for hunting small game.

Best Grouse Hunting Dogs: English Setter

The English Setter is a proud and graceful animal use in hunting for quail, pheasant, and grouse. It’s a dog bred for endurance and athleticism, and it is capable of long stands in hard weather.

Like a pointer, the English Setter “points” to the location of the prey, giving the hunter ample time to set up and shoot. Unlike the Pointer, however, the English Setter prefers to remain closer to the hunter, so they’re always in line of sight.

It’s an amazing dog to watch as it sniffs the air for its prey before holding point, motionless, waiting for the kill.

A Great Dog For Duck Hunting:  The Chesapeake Bay RetrieverChesapeake Bay Retriever

The Chesapeake Bay Retriever is a gun dog originally bred to retrieve waterfowl, specifically (but not exclusively) duck. It’s a dog with a lot of endurance, ability, and intelligence.

The “Chessie” is a tough dog, with a double coat that does a great job of insulating it against icy water. This is a big dog, too, and it needs a lot of exercise.

Most owners agree that the Chesapeake Bay Retriever should be trained by its owner, and in an environment where as a puppy it can socialize with other dogs.

This loyal beast is the waterfowl hunter’s friend for life.

Best Bird Hunting Dog:  German Shorthaired PointerGerman Shorthaired Pointer

The German Shorthaired Pointer is probably the most popular pointing dog in the world. It is a sleek, powerful animal with the uncanny ability to move and turn with astonishing rapidity.

They have a strong, broad muzzle, making it perfect for pointing and retrieving heavy game. The German Shorthaired Pointer has webbed feet and will go after waterfowl in the water without hesitation.

A versatile creature, the German Shorthaired Pointer is the average North American gamebird hunter’s dog of choice.

A Great Dog For Hunting Badgers& Rabbits:  The Jack Russell TerrierLeaping Jack Russell On The Hunt

The Jack Russell Terrier is known as a working dog thanks to its toughness and stubborn nature. Its robustness makes it a formidable companion when you’re hunting groundhog, badger, or fox.

The Jack Russell locates the prey in the earth, either chasing it out of the hole or holding it in place until the hunter can dig it out. You’ll either have to be in good condition to work a Jack Russell Terrier or it will get you into shape quickly.

No matter how far you can walk in a day, the Jack Russell Terrier will outpace you several times.

Best Fox Hunting Dog:  The American FoxhoundAmerican Foxhound Dog

Last and certainly not least, the American Foxhound is, as its name suggests, bred to hunt foxes. With its extraordinary sense of smell, it’s also considered to be the best breed for running deer drives thanks to its stamina.

Yes, and the unmistakable baying sound it makes when on the hunt! It is an agile dog that is perfect for hunting over rugged terrain.

The American Foxhound loves to be outside, and when it is on the scent it will tear off, commands notwithstanding.

A Great Dog For Squirrel Hunting:  The FeistFeist Dog

A Feist is a small dog, bred in the southern United States, frequently used for small game hunting, frequently squirrel hunting. Alone or in packs, the Feist works above ground and barks up the tree to alert hunters that prey is hiding there.

Feists are smallish dogs, weighing 25 to 30 pounds with short coats and long legs. They’re bred almost exclusively for hunting, and they are quiet about it, too, unlike hounds.

Feists use their senses to locate and tree the squirrel before barking loudly to alert the hunter, much in the same way a coonhound does with raccoons.

A Feist will chase a squirrel to the ends of the earth or until it loses sight of it.

Wrap Up:

Choosing a dog is a very personal choice and it will largely depend on what type of hunter you are and what type of game you will be hunting.

If you are compound bow hunting big game, then obviously a keen tracker like a Coonhound might be a better choice than a Jack Russell Terrier.

The same applies if you are hunting small game with a crossbow.  You’d likely be looking at a Beagle over a Labrador retriever.

Any one of these hunting dogs will do the trick as filling in for both your best friend as well as keen hunting partner for years to come.

Disney And Its Demons

Click here to view the original post.

Have you ever had the thought, or commented on, how much our childhoods as Baby Boomers were more cheerful and light-hearted and full of joyous memories?  We were entertained by seemingly harmless and innocent TV shows and movies — things like I Love Lucy, Leave It To Beaver, Charlie Brown, Andy Griffith, Rocky and Bullwinkle, and who can forget gathering the family around the TV for Walt Disney on Sunday nights?
There were none of the “heavier” kinds of kid’s entertainment like today’s Xiaolin Chronicles, Young Dracula, Transformers Prime Beast Hunters, Every Witch Way, and The Haunted Hathaways.  To be sure, the old trusted Disney franchise is still pumping out The Mickey Mouse Club, and Sesame Street is still around.  But, about that Disney franchise….
We’ve all seen what the Disney studios have created in Miley Cyrus, and we tend to think that modern-day Disney no longer resembles the Disney of our youth.  That Disney is seen in our memories as harmless and nontoxic; definitely not dangerous or evil.  But let me share something with you that just may show how faulty that reasoning is.
I recently discovered that Disney is planning a live-action adaptation from a segment of their 1940 animation masterpiece, Fantasia.  You may recall the recent movie Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie as the iconic witch from the Sleeping Beauty animated film, known as “The Mistress of All Evil”.  Now, Disney is planning a 2016 release of the Fantasia segment titled “A Night On Bald Mountain”, which Hollywood Reporter characterizes as a live-action film “centered on a dark winged creature who raised spirits from the dead. They dance, fly through the air and enjoy a night of mayhem until they fade away as the night ends and the sun begins to rise.”  I’m sorry, but that is far too demure of a portrayal of this film.  (Click on the above link to see the Fantasia segment).

Chernabog

When the original animated version of Fantasia hit theaters in 1940-41, this segment openly glorified Chernabog, a giant evil demon, who appears as the only main character in the “Night on Bald Mountain/Ave Maria” segment.  He has been praised as Disney’s best representation of pure evil, and as animator Vladimir Tytla’s greatest triumph. As a very “raw” representation of evil, he, in his original appearance, is not placed in the context of any real story, and he and his minions’ actions are not committed in pursuit of any discernible goal other than general havoc–wreaking and tyranny on all… in other words, “to steal, kill, and destroy” (John 10:10).
Chernabog is one of the most powerful villains Walt Disney has ever created because he is depicted as a ruthless monster, feared by all who encounter him.  Walt Disney, himself, said another name for Chernabog was Satan.  Many of his appearances also show him to be somewhat comedic, as seen in The Wonderful World of Disney, and House of Mouse.  But I promise you, he is anything but funny.  His power is shown to be incredibly demonic, being able to unleash hellish realms and spirits. While immensely dark, he has managed to become a trademark Disney villain.
The reason that I am alerting you to the existence of this character and want you to focus on his re-emergence in this new animated film, is because I believe that there is real demonic power and forces behind such creations as this.  In fact, Thornton Hee, another Disney animator who worked on Fantasia, recalled wanting to ask Vladimir Tytla (the creator of the character Chernabog) about something, but when he entered the animator’s room, he found it was in complete darkness save for the fluorescent light under Tytla’s drawing, which lit his face in an eerie way as he worked. This unnerved Hee enough to compel him to leave without alerting Tytla to his presence at all.
And Thornton Hee was not the only one frightened by this depiction of Chernabog.  At the time of its release in 1940, many parents criticized the film for frightening their children in the “Night on Bald Mountain” segment.  One film critic,  Dorothy Thompson of The New York Herald Tribune, wrote that she “left the theater in a condition bordering on nervous breakdown,” because the film was a “remarkable nightmare.”  And no wonder… when you read of Chernabog’s descriptions on a website dedicated to his creation as an animated character, you read things like “Gigantic, slender, muscular, scary-looking face, black skin and horns, yellow glowing eyes, jagged fangs, giant black wings with purple undersides”.  You read that his “occupation” is Demon Lord.  The things he likes are “Evil, darkness, war, chaos, night, fire, shadows, sins, hate, fear, despair, death”.  And he dislikes “all that is good, and the light”.
And if you are interested in Disney trivia, you might find the following bits of information interesting in regards to this animated demon:

Yen Sid

•  The words in his name, “cherna” and “bog”, mean “black” and “god” in Slavic languages (his animator, Vladimir Tytla was Ukrainian).
•  Chernabog was referred to as “Yen Sid” in the pencil tests for Fantasia. But “Yen Sid” was used as the name of Mickey’s magic master in The Sorcerer’s Apprentice scene in the film, and the animation of both characters were supervised by Tytla.  (Further evidence that Disney knew exactly what was being created in this film).
•  Chernabog is unusual in that he has no other purpose other than to be evil. He is not interested in conquest.  (Remember:  “Steal, kill, and destroy” — he knows he can’t win).
•  Walt Disney called Chernabog the devil himself.
My point in recounting all this information is this: I do not believe that the inclusion of Chernabog in the original animated film, nor his appearances in the current Kingdom of Hearts video game series, or his new starring role in the forthcoming live-action film adaptation, is a coincidence.  It is my conjecture that people influenced by the demonic presence of Satan on this earth know exactly what they are doing.  It is no coincidence that several people I know have expressed harassment by a “dark entity”, sometime in their life, that just happens to resemble this animated character.
So what do you think is the purpose of re-introducing Chernabog to a new generation?  Could it be the same as Maleficient?  (See my thoughts on this film at this blog post). I firmly believe that children who are subjected to horror movies or TV shows — everything from Fantasia, to Dark Shadows, to The Shining, to Halloween and Freddie Krueger, to the Twilight series — are being not only influenced by the demonic realm, but are being subtly persuaded, if you will, to accept this as normal and nothing to fear — sort of a “soft sell” approach to accepting the reality of Evil.  Except that there is nothing “soft” or “subtle” about Satan and his demons.  And, for what it’s worth, even as an adult, to watch “A Night On Bald Mountain” is deeply disturbing to my spirit.  Guard your children!  Walt Disney and his funny little mouse buddy are not your friends!

Ephesians 5:11    Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.”

OK, You Survived…but What If You Have Been Captured?

Click here to view the original post.

If we are all planning for a SHTF situation, we must plan for the worst case scenario.  This begs the question of what would you do if you were captured?  Another word synonymous with that is “interred,” at the rate the regime is moving.  There are plenty of books out there about POW’s and this article will cover the basics that you need to help give you an edge.  I strongly recommend reading books by Jeremiah Denton or Col. James “Nick” Rowe, especially the latter’s “Five Years to Freedom,” an end-all be-all book chronicling his captivity by the Viet Cong during the war, both available via Amazon.com.

There are a few truisms you must understand going in (to this article, not into captivity, may God forbid it).  So many American citizens are not exposed to hardships that they are not capable of dealing with them when a disaster does occur.  Keep in mind the saying of my old First Sergeant from the 82nd Airborne Division for this article as well:

How you train in peace is how you’ll fight in war.

The most important thing you can do is condition your mind to believe there is a possibility that you can be captured or interred.  This seems as if it’s a small task; however, it is not.  Many times in life we know about something that can happen; however, since the probability of it happening is low we “reverse-condition” our minds to not accept that (although improbable) it is not impossible.  The event surfaces, and it is so outside of our conditioned paradigm, our routine behavior that we will not truly accept it.

Secondly (and as we already introduced the concept), even if the event is accepted, a person may not have prepared for it because people just don’t prepare for the improbable.  Let’s face it, folks.  Who really saw that the country was going to be where it is right now twenty-five years ago?  Life is punctuated by “emoticons,” where a dramatic event occurs that may change everyone’s perception of things.  Time, however, has a way of dulling conscious efforts.

In this case, I ask you a question that may summarize the position/stance you need to follow: Are you going to wait until an entire division of foreign paratroopers are falling from the sky into your backyard before you prepare?  The answer (I’m sure for most of you) is a resounding “No,” because you are here, reading this site.  You are already thinking “outside of the box.”

You need to mentally prepare yourself for the possibility that you can be taken captive/interred in a camp.

Let’s go through some things to remember, first with a foreign army of occupation, and then a totalitarian dictatorship (domestic tyranny).

FOREIGN ARMY OF INVASION/OCCUPATION

  1. With your initial capture, you must give them a reason not to kill you – You’re a prisoner, and they are soldiers from a foreign land. You have to give them a reason not to lead you into a ditch.  Do you have any special skills?  Are you a doctor, or are you a professional in the sciences?  They may even be asking if you have a skilled trade for a work camp.  You better have one, or you had better improvise and make them believe you have one.

Another method:  the ½ now, ½ later routine.  This entails giving them some kind of valuables with the promise of much more if you’re released.  Once again, you better have the rest of it stashed somewhere.  Then you must give them enough, but not too much, or they will assume they have enough and they don’t care about getting any more.  This method is tricky and can backfire on you if you’re not careful.

  1. Never be in the front of the line or the back of the line – Always be the “grey man,” the one who does not stick out in the crowd.  When they take “extras” for a detail (almost always a bad detail) they usually snag the people in the front or in the back of the line.
  1. Do not look the (capturing) soldiers in the eye or take a “challenging” position – They’ll kill you, plain and simple. Are you going to be taken?  You had your chance to be Johnny J. Rambo.  Now you need to be Edmund Dantes from Dumas’ “The Count of Monte Cristo.”  Now you need to be smart…to stay alive.  No challenges, no fights, and give them an impression: you’re a valuable American prisoner that can be used, and you’re cooperativeThat is the impression you need to make on them…to make it past the initial capture/initial screening of prisoners.

WHEN YOU’RE IN THE CAMP/DETAINED

This is where everything will come into play.  You will need to look for opportunities to escape, opportunities to find weapons, and chances to find hiding spots.  You’ll need to learn how to hustle, how to be sharp.  You need to keep your eyes and ears open and your mouth shut…unless you need it.

The subject is very big, so I encourage you to read.  “The Gulag Archipelago,” I & II by Alexander Solzhenitsyn, and “One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovitch, by him as well.  The man spent a long time in the gulags of the USSR, and while “One Day..” is fictitious, only the character and storyline is…the rest is of the author’s personal experience.

Other things that will help you beforehand are linguistic skills/language(s).  Really, JJ may sound far-fetched suggesting to study some Russian or Mandarin Chinese.  But wouldn’t it be nice to know a few phrases that might single you out from the herd?  Say they need three laborers and there are 300 people there.  If you are the only one who knows basic greetings and expressions in Russian?  Well, they only need two other laborers, now.  Guess where the other 297 are going?  Language is a weapon to be used offensively or defensively.  By being skilled and having some language skills, you may be able to save your family, as a trade-off.

DOMESTIC TYRANNY/DICTATORSHIP

Once again, Solzhenitsyn is the guy to read (the aforementioned works).  Here you will not have as much leeway as with the foreigners.  These guys are going to know when you’re “blowing smoke,” so the best thing to do when captured is to win them over as you are planning an escape. The escape thing is such a great concept.  The only flaw is when they have your family.  It is then that you have to think of the trade-off and the consequences of such actions.  We will follow this article up with a subsequent one on escape.

Weapons:  Weapons that you beg, borrow, steal, or improvise will land you in the hole or worse.  You still need to acquire them or to make them.  Tin can lids, silverware, hardware, scrap metal.  Rope, nylon line, electrical cords.  Wooden dowels, branches, chair-rungs.  All of these things mentioned are your “supplies,” to make improvised knives, shivs, shanks, clubs, garrotes.  Make ‘em and stash ‘em, but find your stashing spot before you make the weapon.  Anything that can make fire (matches, lighter, flints) has weapons potential.  You’re only limited by your imagination: lack of using it.

Supplies:  You’ll always need supplies; however, you cannot escape if you cannot sustain yourself outside the camp.  Extra blankets, extra food, extra clothing, and anything that can help you is what you need.  Canned goods, a compass, a flashlight…all of these things can be acquired, if you know how to hustle.

Allies:  I guarantee you are not getting out of sing-sing alone.  There are too many eyes watching you all of the time, and guess what?  Do you have a neighbor who is a jerk?  Let’s assume the DHS picked him up with you in the neighborhood roundup in downtown Sacramento, and he’s a flaming lib. Well, what do you think that neighbor is going to do when he sees you making for the wire with a pair of bolt cutters?  He’s going to pick up his “good citizen” award from “the Peacekeepers.”  Make allies, but make sure they are for real.  Vet ‘em, because your life depends on it.

When you go in, you better have some gold or silver or other valuables that you can squirrel away or stash.  Read the true story “Papillon” by Henri Charriere about how the counterfeiter he guarded (on Devil’s Island) had a stash of cash, in a plan.  I encourage you to research the word “plan” in French prisoner-slang to find what it means.

Best advice of all: do not be taken.  If you are to be taken, however, these are a few of the things you can do to help you maximize your chances of success.  A good strategy is nothing until it is successfully executed.  Increase your chances of success, and “game” all of it in your mind, as well as train yourself and your family for the possibility.  Although it is improbable, it is not impossible, but if you want probability of success should it happen, you must believe it to be possible and prepare ahead of time.  Have a great day, and may you be successful in all that you do.

The Scariest Volcano In America Is No Longer Yellowstone

The Scariest Volcano In America Is No Longer Yellowstone

America’s deadliest volcano could be primed for another eruption – and it’s not Yellowstone.

Scientists have discovered a giant, previously unknown lava pool beneath Mount St. Helens in Washington State that could fuel future eruptions at several different volcanoes.

The 1980 eruption at Mount St. Helens was the deadliest volcanic disaster in recorded American history, killing 57 people and spewing 540 million tons of ash into the air, USA Today reported. It also caused the largest recorded landslide in history.

A group of scientists have used imaging technology to map the plumbing under Mount St. Helens, and they made a disturbing discover: There is not one but two giant magma chambers under the mountain. The first chamber that caused the 1980 eruption is three to seven miles below the surface, but that cavern is connected to a much larger pool of lava that is seven to 25 miles underground.

Get The Essential Survival Secrets Of The Most Savvy Survivalists In The World!

That means the risk of eruption at Mount St. Helens could be far greater than scientists thought. Even worse, the lower chamber of magma could fuel eruptions at several volcanos in the area, including Mount Adams and the Indian Heaven field of dormant volcanoes nearby.

“It isn’t a stretch to say that there’s something down there feeding everything,” Rice University Geophysicist Alan Levander said. Levander was one of the experts involved in the Imaging Magma Under St. Helens team (iMUSH) that studied Mount St. Helens.

Story continues below video

To image the volcanoes, experts planted 920 sensors and set off 23 small explosions. The explosions were needed to generate vibrations that they could use to map out how earthquakes affect the volcano. The 1980 eruption at Mount St. Helens was preceded by a series of earthquakes.

Story continues below video

“You’re actually seeing it in action,” Kate Miller, a geophysicist from Texas A&M University, said of the research. “Now, you can go in and model the plumbing system.”

Yellowstone also has a two-chamber system underneath it, Off The Grid News reported earlier this year.

Those who live on the West Coast now have another reason to pay close attention.

Democracy, committing suicide!
James Walton “I Am Liberty

Democracy, committing suicide!

“Democracy… while it lasts is more bloody than either [aristocracy or monarchy]. Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There is never a democracy that did not commit suicide.” John Adams quotes

So if John Adams was correct we will either have to fight a bloody civil war to keep man free or we have to get comfortably settled under a rash of dictators who come in and rule over us with impunity one after the other. Its very frightening when you come to the realization that democrat or republican, when it comes to representation this nation is left to the will of the highest bidder. Even if you didn’t vote for President Obama he is a great example of good intentions beaten to death by the system.

Democracy, committing suicide! That being said what if you had the power? Imagine, just for a moment, if you woke up on a throne and had just one day to enact some very serious plans to right the ship. Now I implore you to be a little radical in thought. I want to have fun with this topic tonight. I have some ideas myself. Let me put it nice and simple. What if you were Americas new dictator? What would you do and how would you do it?

I have some very strong ideas and plans if I were given such power. Ideas that would make most people flinch. Its a night to think about the what ifs and wonder about the future of our nation. Though we wont be talking too much on the prepper side of things we will be talking about America.

Give Your Preps and Chores A Rest | Backdoor Survival

Welcome to this week’s Survival Buzz with an update on my own preps plus news and announcements from the Backdoor Survival blog.

When I was a young woman, my parents told me that everything I did became a grand adventure.  To this day, I don’t know whether that was a compliment or not, but hey, I will take it.  How that plays out now is that with each day and with each task, the mundane becomes a big deal.  Does that make sense?

And thus it is with prepping.  It is all, for me, a big adventure with purpose.  Some days are better than others but one thing is certain, it is not boring.  All that being said, sometimes I get tired and this week was one of those times.  I was so tired that I almost chopped my finger off.  Luckily, I am still able to function but still, keyboarding is very much a chore at the moment.

Give Your Preps and Chores A Rest | Backdoor Survival

I was able to fix up my bloody finger with bandages and my boo-boo stick but it was messy and painful.  The cut is extremely deep but as soon as I can, I plan to seal it up with superglue and leave the surrounding area open to heal naturally.

So why and how is this important?  I want to advise you to do as I say and not as I do.  If you are tired to the point where you can’t see straight, give it a break.  The last time I checked, our world was not ending; it is simply going a bit sideways.  There is always tomorrow to get things done, so give it a rest and start anew in a day or two.

With that out of the way, what did I do to prep this week?

First off, the delivery of a 720 meal food kit from Buy Emergency Foods arrived. Being space-confined and anxious that the food pantry at my new location was mostly bare, I wanted to ensure that if the big one happened tomorrow, I would be covered.  Yes, this was a huge investment.  On the other hand, the cost was less than my annual auto insurance premium and at the end of the year, I will still have my food.

Legacy Food Kit | Backdoor Survival

I do have some bulk foods, namely 50 pounds of pinto beans and 50 pounds of rice.  All told, I am now feeling much closer to my comfort zone and am continuing to add to my pantry with each trip to the grocery store.  For the most part, I am adding the items in 20 Items to Kick Start Your Food Storage Plan, which, now that I think about it, I may have mentioned last week.

Growing Peppermint | Backdoor Survival

I also planted some herbs this week, starting with peppermint and basil.  I will be keeping a close eye on them since I have heard that the native rabbits love greens.  We will see about that.

That about covers it for me this week.  Let’s move on.

Test Your Preps Now Lest You Burn Down the House

Everyone once in a while, a vendor will contact me regarding testing and reviewing their product.  By now you know the rules:  if I like the product (and only if), and if they sponsor a giveaway, I agree to  do a review.  No giveaway, no review.  Period.

Recently I was sent a wireless motion detector light for testing.  It was similar those Dorcy wireless spotlights I love so much so I thought, heck, if I could give a few away I would be willing to run it through its paces.

Long story short, the morning after setting it up, I thought it odd that it was not lighting up as I was walked by in the dim light.  When I reached up to take the light off the shelf, it was hot and the casing was melted.  So were 4 Duracell D cells inside.

Melted LED Light | Backdoor Survival

The moral of the story?  Test your preps periodically to make sure they are in top working condition.  Beyond that, do not leave any new electronics or battery-operated devices unattended until you know they are functioning properly lest you burn your house down!

Side note:  I contacted the company and told them what happened and never heard a peep back.

Backdoor Survival reader and Book Festival author, J.A, Charnov, checked in this week with another great video to watch for free on PBS.  Here is a link to the NOVA piece called “CyberWar Threat“.  It is available right now for online viewing.  Have I mentioned lately that a cyber attack or cyber war is right up there at the top of the list of things I prepare for?

If you are interested in the book Cascadia’s Curse, it is on sale for $2.99 during the month of November.  If you live anywhere near the Cascadia Fault (or any other fault for that matter) you are going to want to take a peek at this one.

News from Our Sponsors

This week we welcome Discount Mylar Bags as our newest sponsor.  Last week’s giveaway featured Discount Mylar Bags and the owner has been gracious in jumping and helping with your questions.  That said, I am in the process of organizing all of the questions and will be getting as many as I can answered in a follow-up article.

In the meantime, jump on over to Discount Mylar Bags and check out their huge selection of Mylar bags, oxygen absorbers, and other food packaging supplies.

In other sponsor news, I had a chance to test the Survivalist Bottle/Fit Bottle this week.  Receipt of this bottle was timely given last weeks comments about the LifeStraw (which, by the way, is an excellent product and one that I personally believe in).

The Survivalist Bottle does filter out viruses as well as bacteria and other nasties including fluorides. Beyond that, there are a few things in particular that sets it aside as a superior water bottle and filter.  First, ergonomically it is easy to hold.  The best description I can provide is that it is “hourglass” shaped, making it easy to handle.  I can’t even count the times that a big fat water bottle has dropped from my hands and made a big mess of my desk and my laptop keyboard.

I like that I do not have to squeeze the bottle to drink water. To take a sip, flip the spout, tip the bottle and drink.  Easy peasy with no leaks from the sippy-spout or the cap.  Believe me, I tried to make it fail!

The real advantage, though, is its filtering ability.  The Survivalist/Fit Bottle filters 99.9997% of bacteria, viruses, waterborne pathogens and harmful chemicals, making it an ideal addition to your emergency kit.  Want to learn more?  Visit their website at The Survivalist Bottle and note that Backdoor Survival readers get a 10% discount using code BACK10 at checkout.

Other Announcements

If any of you participated in the Emergency Essentials $100 gift card promo last month, be aware that due to some sort of glitch, the gift cards were not sent out to online customers.  I discovered this myself because I placed an large order and did not get my $100 gift card.

Money is something I take very seriously so I called.  Supposedly, my gift card will be arriving soon but heads up: if you placed a large order during the $100 promotion, give Emergency Essentials a call at the number shown on your pack list to get things straightened out.

The Final Word

That’s a wrap for me this week.  Over the weekend I plan to rest my finger and stay away from the keyboard.  I might even get outside and hike a bit.  My gosh, I am missing the forest and the sea!

So what about you – what did you do to prep this week?

Enjoy your next adventure through common sense and thoughtful preparation!

Almost Free:  How many times do you swap out batteries in your devices?  By using this “almost free” battery tester, you can toss our (recycle or recharge) only the used up batteries since often time, only one of the two or three you are replacing is bad.  As of this writing, only $3.25 with free shipping.

SE – Battery Tester (Tests Batteries From AAA AA C D 9V)

Bargain Bin:  Today I have a mixed bag of some of my favorite items, including the battery tester shown above.

Dorcy LED Wireless Motion Sensor Flood Lite: This light is awesome. I use mine downstairs as well as on my stairway and when I get up in the middle of the night, they come on automatically. They are quite unobtrusive and give off a ton of light.  Runs for a year on 3 D size batteries. About $20.

Kindle Paperwhite, 6″ High-Resolution Display with Built-in Light, Wi-Fi: After resisting for eons, I broke down and purchased a Kindle and am now browbeating myself for not doing so sooner.  Technology has come a long way since purchasing my old Sony eBook reader (which was 3 times the price).  If you have a special birthday coming up, request the Kindle paperwhite.  It is fantastic!

Note:  I just noticed that Prime members can purchase a Kindle Paperwhite for only $89.99.  That is a steal!

Kershaw OSO Sweet Knife:  You can’t beat a Kershaw knife for quality at a reasonable price point.  Typically under $23 – but $16 as of this writing – this knife will become your favorite for every day carry.  And that includes the ladies, too.

Tac Force TF-705BK Tactical Assisted Opening Folding Knife 4.5-Inch Closed: This is a great knife that is bargain priced.  Not only that, it is ranked as the #1 best seller at Amazon in both the camping and hunting knives categories.  The reviews raved about this knife so I bought one, used it, and and can recommend it.  See my review The Inexpensive Tac-Force Speedster Outdoor Knife.

Smith’s PP1 Pocket Pal Multifunction Sharpener:  I wrote about this is in the article The Easy Way to Sharpen a Knife Without Spending a Lot of Money.  It sharpens everything from pocket knives to kitchen blades.  Portable and easy to use and for about $9.

LifeStraw Personal Water Filter:  The LifeStraw contains no chemicals, no batteries and no moving parts to wear out. It features a a high flow rate and weighs only 2 oz. It works quickly, taking roughly 3-5 seconds of sucking to start the flow of water through the filter. It’s ultra-light and inexpensive but effective.  There is also the LifeStraw Family that will purify up to 12 liters per hour.

Shop the Emergency Essentials Monthly Specials

The monthly specials at Emergency Essentials feature discounts of up to 35% off sometimes a bit more.

Emergency Essentials Potty        The Perfect Homemade Biscuit Mix from Food Storage Backdoor Survival

Every family should have at least one Tote-able Toilet.  I have priced purchasing the bucket and toilet seat lid separately and found that it was more economical to pick up this kit.  I have filled my portable potty with sanitation supplies plus, of course, plenty of TP.

I also recommend the Mobile Washer. This is a hand operated washing machine. Like a plunger, it uses a technique of pushing and pulling the water through clothes to clean them well without wearing them out. It uses a minimum of water and less soap due to the agitation motion. Use in a bucket (5-gallon suggested), sink or tub. The best part is the price – only $14.95.
