Survival Uses for Pine Tree Resin You Haven’t Thought Of

Click here to view the original post.

There are many uses for the resin that can be collected from pine trees.  Just what is the resin and how does the pine tree use it?  Well, it’s a substance that helps protect the tree from funguses and disease, as it is antimicrobial in nature.  Resin (commonly referred to as “sap”) also enables the tree to hold in water and protect it in times of drought.  It is used by the tree as a sort of natural “self-patching” kit to help it close a wound within it, such as a deep gouge in the bark.

People have been using resin for a long time.  It can be used to make wood stain and varnish.  Yeah, I know, that’s really exciting.  So, let’s cut to the chase and list what it can do.

  1. First Aid: The sap is antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory.  A hardened piece can be softened with heat and applied to a wound to help stop bleeding.  If you chew it (softer pieces), it can treat sore throats and help with a cold.
  2. For fire and light: the resin burns, and can be used to make torches, fire starters, and makeshift candles. Read more on how to acquire a supply of fat wood for lighting fires in a snap.
  3. Glue: for patching holes and tears…also in skin, akin to super-glue on a cut (double use as first-aid there). You can mount heads on blowgun-darts, spears, and arrows with it.

There’s plenty to go around.  You can gather it in the woods both hardened and soft.  Be sure and use a container, preferably glass and not plastic to carry your resin.  People harvest it by cutting v-shaped notches into the bark in rows parallel to one another.  The resin then collects in the lowest one…a bucket or vessel is needed to catch it.  Don’t go out and destroy or hurt live trees unless it’s a genuine survival situation.  If it kills you to think about it, know that those who harvest it do so for 20 years or more with no overall ill effects on the tree.

Fossilized resin is known as amber and has been fashioned into jewelry.  Many times, the amber trapped animals in it when it was still soft resin, such as bees, ants, and spiders…and they ended up being perfectly preserved…of great historical and scientific value.  Pine tar, pitch, rosin, and turpentine can be made from pine tree resin, and although they are beyond the scope of this article, they are worth mentioning for your further research.

I’ve written articles on pine pollen and pine needle tea in the past.  As you can see, the pine trees have many uses besides just building cabins and as fuel for fires that don’t immediately jump out at you.  Learn to find and gather the resin and try to practice using it in the ways we covered here.  This is good for your ongoing survival training and further sustaining yourself when the going gets tough and the only resources you have are what information you carry in your head and the skills to make it happen.  JJ out!

Could Former FBI Director James Comey Make It As A Rodeo Clown?

Click here to view the original post.

With a flair for self-promotion, former FBI Director Comey may land himself a paying job on the rodeo circuit

Fired FBI Director James B. Comey has now admitted that some of the allegations against President Trump could be false.

Comey told Trump that stories about a tape of Trump and prostitutes “could have been made up,” The New York Times reported. That revelation comes from a group of memos made concerning his discussions with the President that were released to the public on April 19.

Trump was willing to meet with Comey to discuss allegations that the Russians had made a blackmail tape of the future president, before the inauguration in 2017. The two discussed the so-called “dossier;” in which British spy turned private investigator, Christopher Steele, made allegations against Trump.

Less than a month later, Comey seems to have changed his mind. A February 2017 memo stated that Comey thought other intelligence agencies had corroborated portions of the dossier. Comey did not say what agencies had confirmed the allegations, or how they had been substantiated.

The Democrats agree that the Dossier is Fake

Strangely enough, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) also thinks the Steele Dossier might be fake or unreliable.

The DNC lawsuit alleging Russian interference in the election does not mention the Steele dossier at all, The Washington Times pointed out. No reference is made to the file in the entire 66-page lawsuit.

Most likely this is because the DNC’s lawyers know it wouldn’t hold up in court.

Leaked Memos Designed To Promote Comey Book?

The leaked memos corroborate and support many of the points Comey made in his recently released book; A Higher Loyalty, the Atlantic magazine pointed out.

Comey’s “leaking” just happened to appear while he was on his new book tour.

The memos conveniently first went public when Comey appeared on The Rachel Maddow Show.

Disturbingly, Maddow herself already had handwritten notes from FBI General Counsel and former Acting Deputy Attorney General, Dana Boente before she interviewed Comey on April 20. Boente’s notes seem to be about some of the meetings between the president and then FBI Director Comey.

Come Made No Effort To Write Memos when Talking To Obama

Comey seemed to have made no effort to create any memos about President Obama public at that time. The memos also indicate that Comey wrote no memos about his conversations and meetings with former President Barrack Obama (D-Illinois) who appointed him FBI Director, ZeroHedge’s Tyler Durden pointed out.

Additionally, Comey made no memos about Obama administration members, such as former Attorney General Loretta Lynch, even though he said that he had serious concerns about her policies, Darden charged. The memos also fail to support a case of obstruction of justice against President Trump or anybody else, Darden claimed. That raises the possibility that the memos were merely a publicity stunt designed to pump up Comey’s book sales.

As good a marketer as Comey has been thus far; my advice would be to abandon any plans to enter the upcoming Rodeo Clown School in Tin Cup, Colorado.

Instead, consider the position of full-time clown on The View.

Spec-Ops closeout

Click here to view the original post.

I loves me a bargain. Being a survivalist is a resource-intensive lifestyle when you’re getting started. Once you’v been at it a while, and gotten the major purchasing sprees out of the way, it’s really just a little hear-and-there upgrades and ‘nice to have’s. The guys at Spec-Ops are having a closeout on two products that I’ve found to be quite good. They are:

A three-mag MOLLE/PALS panel in your choice of camo for $12.50

And a very nice knife scabbard in either brown/coyote/whatever-the-new-term-for-desert-is or the hideous ACU for $11.25.

I have an extra G3 bayonet without a scabbard laying around, so this sheath is perfect for finding a home for that bayonet and keeping it with the bag of G3 support gear.

I’ve used the Spec-Ops stuff for years and have been extremely pleased. It’s American-made (unlike Maxpedition and most Blackhawk gear), seems pretty durable, and is pretty basic no-frills stuff. I’ve been carrying their messenger bag as a bookbag to school for the last two years and have had absolutely no issues with it. I’ve been using their discontinued SOB buttpacks (make your own joke) for the last decade and found them remarkably rugged and durable.

Their designs are, for the most part, unimaginative but the quality and price is pretty hard to beat. And at closeout prices, even better.

Dangerous “Fake News” Video Technology Is Here

Click here to view the original post.

Using Artificial Intelligence to create fake videos will make the truth even more difficult to discern than it already is.

Anything you see on TV might very well be fake. I know. I know. Most of it already is. But the technology to make advanced “fake videos” of people saying fake things or doing fake things now exists with the help of advanced Artificial Intelligence.

That’s right, it’s now possible to create a fake news video of President Trump endorsing a Democrat or Sean Hannity offering “evidence” for Russia-gate. BuzzFeed and MonekyPaw Productions used artificial intelligence (AI) to create a fake video in which former President Barrack Obama slings profanity and offers his opinion on the movie Black Panther.

The actual “Obama” in the video is actor Jordan Peele who in reality looks nothing like the ex-president. Peele talks, but it looks as if Obama is saying the words. The process uses AI to manipulate video so it looks as if Peele’s words are coming out of Obama’s mouth.

How “Terrorist Created” Fake News Could Lead to Chaos

The greatest danger from using artificial intelligence or “AI” this way is obvious – the bad guys now have the ability to put fake news into anybody’s mouth. (That means false flag operations as well.)

An obvious strategy to generate panic would be a fake clip of CBS Anchor Jeff Glor or Fox News’ Bill Hemmer saying that terrorists are about to detonate a nuclear weapon in New York City. If the clip were somehow inserted into a real news broadcast it would create chaos.  Thousands or millions of people might flee in panic jamming freeways, train stations, and airports.

A nationwide panic might ensue if the fake news anchor claimed that there was a shortage of food or gasoline or that the credit-card system would shut down at midnight. A result of such frauds might be riots at supermarkets, filling stations, banks, or ATMs, as panicked mobs rushed to stock up on food, cash, or fuel.

An even greater catastrophe would be a fake address by a phony President Trump suddenly interrupting prime time TV and announcing martial law or a new war. A fake “message from the President” could quickly create nationwide or even worldwide panic with a phony warning about a terrorist attack, a shortage, or even war.

The technology to create fake videos has been around for some time. A YouTube video from 2016 shows how AI puts the expressions from an actor’s face on video of politicians like Vladimir Putin and George W. Bush. It is only a matter of time before terrorists and hostile governments like that in North Korea utilize such AI and fake news to spread terror.

Any Audio Can be Fake Too

Nor is it just television news that can be faked. The technology to create realistic phony radio announcements also exists.

A company called Lyrebird is already marketing algorithms it claims will let anybody mimic anybody else’s voice, The Verge reported. Adobe has created ProjectVoCo, a “Photoshop for voice” that lets anybody create their own fake audio just like Photoshop lets you manipulate pictures, The BBC reported.

Lyrebird even released a demonstration clip of fake audio of politicians such as President Trump to demonstrate its capabilities. Disturbingly, Lyberbird claims its algorithm can generate up to one thousand fake sentences in one second.

Any News can be Fake

The danger is that any news can now be faked with today’s technology. Thinking Americans need to be prepared for phony news or announcements coming out of the mouths of what look like real people.

Be skeptical of all video clips that you see and any audio that you hear. If you see a video or hear audio that seems sensational or weird get suspicious.

A great way to check out a news story is to simply Google it …  if the news is on just one or two sites, there is a good chance it is fake. Another method to employ is to change the channel if you are watching TV, if news or an announcement is on just one station get suspicious.

Real news should be coming from several sources. News that is coming from just one source should be questioned.

Finally, be prepared to be patient and wait it out. If you have already done the basic preparations for disaster; such as stockpiling food, ammunition, cash, fuel, etc., you can simply sit back and wait out a fake news panic at home.

At the end of the day, it is always the unprepared that create panic and chaos. Fake news and the new AI fake videos are potentially dangerous threats. Just think…

What if the Nazi’s had this technology?

The Testimony of Heroes

Click here to view the original post.

“It is our job to tell the stories. Tell your students what a difference people of courage and nobility and genius have made to the world. Just tell the stories!”

—Scott LaBarge, “Why Heroes Are Important” (2000)

A Cloud of Witnesses

Most Christians are familiar with the sports analogy that begins in Hebrews 12. The writer challenges us to lay aside the weights that might slow us down and run our race with patience and with our eyes fixed on Jesus Christ. The race here is the Christian life. As an encouragement to us all, the writer reminds us that we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses. The witnesses are all the great heroes of faith described in chapter 11.

It would be easy to fill out the sports analogy and think of these great men and women as spectators who are watching us and cheering us on. But that’s not what the word “witness” actually means. A witness (martyr) is someone who can give legal testimony to something he has seen or heard. Those who make up the great cloud of witnesses aren’t bearing witness about us. They, by their faith and actions, have borne and continue to bear witness to the faithfulness of God. They are His witnesses.

This idea of giving and receiving testimony runs throughout Hebrews 11. The “elders”—all the saints of old—“received a good report,” honorable testimony, through their faith. By faith, Abel offered the right kind of offering to God and so “received a witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts” (v. 4). Enoch walked with God, and God took him straight to heaven, but before that translation “he had this testimony, that he pleased God” (v. 5). The writer goes on to mention Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, and others. He says they all “obtained a good report through faith” (v. 39). That is, God bore witness to their faith, the faith that He Himself had given them.

Notice the shift, though. In Hebrews 11 it is God who gives the good report to His servants. In chapter 12 these same servants are witnesses to us of how God keeps His promises, of how He rewards those who believe.

The Heroes of Faith

Abel bore testimony to the gospel by bringing God a slaughtered lamb. Noah testified to God’s promise of coming judgment by building a huge boat on dry land. Abraham testified to the reality of the New Jerusalem by forsaking his own city and setting out for a land he knew nothing of. Moses parents testified to God’s promises by hiding their infant son from the civil authorities. Moses testified to the reality of Christ by choosing persecution and exile over the throne of Egypt. Rahab testified to the grace of God by committing treason against her city and her gods. In each case, the testimony sprang from faith in the promises of God.

The testimony of the saints is always to the grace and promise of God, never to their efforts or accomplishments. But the faith and actions that constitute that testimony brings forth God’s own testimony to the world: These are My servants, He says; these are My friends: they are righteous … righteous through Jesus Christ.

Why We Need Witnesses

Scripture tells us that we are to believe the testimony of two or three credible witnesses (Deut. 19:15; Matt. 18:16). God gives us many, many witnesses to His faithfulness. He gives us such witnesses because we need them. We need them for inspiration and encouragement. We need them as examples. We need to see how others ran the same race and how God sustained them during difficult and dangerous times. We need to see what faith looks like as others lived it out—both in circumstances like our own and in circumstances different from our own.

Some might object to the word “need.” We have Christ presented to us in the preaching of the gospel and the sacraments. How can we rightly say that we need anything more? There are at least three ways to answer this.

First, while it is true that Scripture emphasizes the preaching of the gospel and the sacraments as the primary means of grace, God also provides other things to help us grow in grace: Bible reading, prayer, meditation, fellowship, and, yes, the example of others. All of these point us back to Christ, who purposes to save men by “the foolishness of preaching” (1 Cor. 1:21) or “the hearing of faith” (Gal. 3:2). But each is more than a mere repetition of last Sunday’s sermon. Each has a depth and texture that goes beyond the exact words of the pastor’s previous message.

Second, when we speak of others as examples, we ought to be speaking evangelically. That is, the men and women whom God holds up to us as examples were themselves living out the gospel. They had Christ as the goal of their earthly race, just as we do. They believed the promise of God concerning the Messiah, and they moved, however imperfectly, in terms of that faith. When we look to these saints, we ought to see Jesus. When we reduce their lives to mere moralisms, then we have mistaken their lives altogether.

Third, Scripture repeatedly holds up other believers as examples for the rest of us. In Philippians Paul writes, “Brothers, join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk according to the example you have in us” (Phil. 3:17, ESV). He also exhorts Timothy, a young pastor, to “be an example to believers” in word, manner of life, love, spirit, faith, and purity (1 Tim. 4:12). Peter says that all elders ought to be examples to their flocks (1 Pet. 5:3). James includes all the Old Testament prophets as examples of suffering and patience: he specifically mentions Job (Jas. 5:10-11). But in all these commands there is an implied qualification. Paul makes it explicit when he tells the Corinthians, “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ” (1 Cor. 11:1). We are to follow others as we see Christ in them, as we see them living out the gospel.

Witnesses as Heroes

Why did the writer of Hebrews choose the men and women he did? Why do we call these saints “heroes”? There are no doubt many reasons, but here are two. First, these saints all fit the argument of the book. Hebrews was addressed to Jewish believers who needed to abandon the Old Covenant for the New. They needed to give up the religion they thought they knew to follow Christ. They had to give up Jerusalem for the New Jerusalem. But their allegiance to the gospel was proving difficult: persecution had begun. Each saint the writer picks as an example speaks in some manner to the Hebrew situation. Each of these saints gave up something extraordinary—a city, a world, a way of life … to follow Jesus.

Second, the stories of these faithful men and women appeal to the reader’s imagination and emotions. We are drawn into their faith-adventure. We are intrigued and moved by their lives. We find that in many ways they are just like us, and yet God used them to accomplish things that mattered. Not everything they did was great as the world measures greatness, of course. Some of these heroes did subdue kingdoms and put foreign armies to flight. But others simply suffered, worshipped, and waited. Their stories can encourage us as well. We see that we can imitate heroes, even be heroes, in the course of very ordinary lives.

Conclusion

God could have filled Scripture with outlines or bullet points of theological truth. Instead, He told us stories about men and women of faith. And all of these stories combine to give us the one great Story, the good news of Jesus Christ. We should conclude that God intends these stories, not merely as a deposit of theological truth, but also as encouragements to our faith, imagination, and vision. Jesus is our Savior. He is also our Example. We are to be like Him. That’s the goal of salvation. To help us toward that goal, Jesus gives us Himself … in the gospel, in the sacraments, and in the stories of imperfect heroes who ran their race with their eyes fixed on Him.

What are the Odds of a U.S. Gun-Grab?

Click here to view the original post.

by Chad

Gun control is once again politically ascendant in the U.S. Due to the agitation, massive financial backing and coordinated astroturfing efforts of social elites using a few high-profile mass shootings as popular reaction mass, an outbreak of gun control legislation has sprang up at federal, state and local levels.

Sweeping and vaguely defined “assault weapon” bans are the order of the day, along with a smattering of usurious taxation language and unfair and laborious checks and waiting periods.

What are the odds of a gun-grab in the U.S.? Not very good, not right now, but certainly not impossible: In fact, a broad gun ban or even confiscation is more possible than it has been in decades. Gun-control supporters are organized, well-funded, and socially active at the state and federal level.

In 2018, states have passed new gun control legislation as have towns and cities, legislation that curtails the rights of law-abiding citizens. What else may be in store for 2nd Amendment proponents in 2018? Let’s find out.

The Anti-Gun Agenda

Whatever lip service anti-2nd Amendment forces may offer, you should not doubt for a moment that outright abolishment of the 2nd Amendment and confiscation of guns from citizens’ hands is their ultimate goal.

The Far Left is much better than the Right at working incrementally, slowly, over years to achieve their goals, and they are content with that. Our lack of activity and vigor will see our rights stripped by inches.

It will begin with the banning of magazines and semi-automatic firearms with certain arbitrary features or design elements that they have dubbed assault weapons. After that’s done, they’ll move piecemeal or simultaneously for registration, onerous waiting periods and additional taxes on guns and ammo.

Whenever you hear them mention “Common Sense regulation,” “Assault Weapons,” “Semi-fully automatic,” and “No one is trying to take your guns, just the guns that no one has any use for,” you know they are on the march.

Let’s pretend they get what they want, and whole swaths of guns and magazines are not just outlawed, but they somehow find a way to actually account for and confiscate them all. Heck, let’s wave a wizard’s wand and make them all vanish. Poof! Gone. Ok, so all the bad guns are gone. How long before some bloodthirsty or deranged individual uses “ok” guns to commit an atrocity? You cannot legislate evil out of the hearts of evil men and women.

Here they’ll come again, this time after all the remaining rifles, semi-auto shotguns, and handguns. Restrictions on quantity of ammo both when purchasing and keeping in your possession. 90 Day mandatory waits. Moratorium on private sales. Psychiatric review. And then the cycle will repeat. Before too many more cycles there will be nothing left. Appeasement will not suffice, and appeasement is a poor strategy for dealing with the tyrannical at any rate.

Lest you think I am scare-mongering, please take the time to look at current, live bills working through Congress right now. Have a look too at recently enacted or resurrected bans on magazines and guns at state and local levels. You will see the consistency of design and intended outcome among of all of them. Bottom Line: Anti-Gunners would see this enacted on the national level, no doubt about it.

Their ultimate reasons are subject to debate or interpretation, and though it makes no difference whatsoever on the outcome, we can examine some of their professed beliefs briefly. Some, the black rifle-haters and other bandwagoners, will say no one needs an AR-15 for hunting or self defense, and “I’m not against guns, but…”

They know little about guns or self-defense, and have either jumped on the gun-grabbin’ express because some guns look scary or because all their enlightened friends are doing it.

Others will decry the number of gun deaths in the U.S., and blame the easy availability of “military-grade” firepower as the cause.

Given sufficient time to gain steam, they will prattle with worrying hysteria about how American has so many deaths from guns, more deaths than whatever European nation, or Japan or wherever.

They may be motivated by a genuine sense of altruism and empathy, but if you start asking them about specific statistics, such as the number of gun deaths due to suicide, or gang-on-gang violence, and so forth, they will become positively unhinged at your impingement of their mental state. Turns out they don’t feel better if you show them that things aren’t as bad as some statistics make it seem.

Another major type you’ll encounter is akin to an “Old Church Lady,” a nag, a professional scold who takes satisfaction from hassling their fellow man. Gun-Haters belonging to this group are nothing more than a (typically rich) busy-body who knows better than you on how best to run your life and your community and cannot help but interject their blathering into any personal choice or system of values, no matter what it is, but especially if it is dangerous or encourages independence.

The last and most worrisome members of this muck-racking contingent are truly dangerous: those that are plainly power-hungry, ones that crave the subjugation of the lesser citizenry. These elites or aspiring elites are intelligent, educated, and ambitious to a fault. They want power, and lots of it, and history has taught them that armed peasants will always get a vote in the outcomes that concern them, and since that is so they work now to remove that most persistent of roadblocks in their way before there is any cause to put it to the test.

Examples of Gun Control Legislation Today

In addition to the major, landmark pieces of gun control legislation in the U.S., among them The National Firearms Act, Gun Control Act and Brady Law; there are hundreds, or thousands of existing laws already on the books that regulate the possession, acquisition, use and ownership of firearms.

To date, I have not seen a conclusive count of those laws. Never mind that, lately enforcement of these laws has been anywhere from lax to completely ignored. Adding another 10 or 100 to the rolls will not save one single life or prevent any tragedy, but this is not stopping the anti-2A front.

The ugliest federal threat against gun owners today is bill HR 5087, the Assault Weapons Ban of 2018. Some of you readers may recall the Clinton-era 1994 Assault Weapons Ban.

This bill is much like that one, but on steroids. Specific language in the bill would greatly restrict or outright ban semi-auto pistols, shotguns and “assault weapons,” “large capacity ammunition feeding devices,” detachable magazines and more. It will also introduce mandatory requirements for storage of guns and specify new transference requirements. This bill is alive today and currently working through committee in the House of Representatives.

The board of trustees in the town of Deerfield, Illinois unanimously approved a ban on certain “assault weapons” and magazines, giving owners of such guns till June 13th of this year to remove those guns from the village or face fines of up to $1,000 a day.

The town is currently facing lawsuit from state level gun rights organizations and the NRA. It is easy to write them off as a lost cause considering Illinois is something of an anti-gun stronghold, but similar measures are being proposed in towns and cities across America.

The state of Florida just squashed a possible assault weapons ban, but did raise the minimum age to purchase a long gun to 21 years of age, in excess of the federal statute. This goes to show that even historically staunch pro-gun states like Florida are far from immune to the political winds.

Vermont just passed legislation restricting “high-capacity” magazines and bump stocks (S.55-Commonsense Gun Safety Legislation- see the naming, there?), and requiring background checks for private sales as well as the raising of the minimum age to buy any gun to 21.

The bill, if signed by the governor, will take effect on October 1st. This has led to a massive rush on guns, magazines and accessories in that state. There is no evidence that restricting any rights of citizens will make anyone safer or halt the commission of a crime.

California, ever the beacon of potential for anti-2A agitators, pushed forward 10 new gun control bills back in February. The totality of those bills would expand the definition of assault rifles and issuance of gun violence restraining orders, prevent the creation of homemade or “80%” firearms, and lead to an additional 500,000 citizens in that state needing to register another 2,000,000 guns.

There are countless more measures, great and small, being floated all across the country at the state and local level, and who-knows what else that will be drafted in the halls of Congress. This is not a practice run for the other side- they are playing for keeps.

What Would Confiscation Look Like?

I’ll be speculating here, but using other developed, Western nations that have seen their citizens arms seized as our template, we can make an informed guess. After the requisite laws pass and confiscation is initiated, it will likely start with mandatory turn-ins, with or without compensation.

There will be designated locations, at county and state level, where gun owners can go to turn in their guns, have their pertinent info databased, and be issued a receipt of a sort. It is my opinion that the huge majority of citizens will comply, contrary to internet bravado.

Now, America is a humongous country, and we nearly have enough guns for every single man, woman and child. It is a safe assumption that a great number of guns will not be turned in.

After an amnesty period, and increasing volume and frequency of agitation and propaganda broadcast across all forms of media, any gun owner who has decided to keep their arms and had their information compromised, be it from a tip to authorities, data mined from social media, the NICS background check database, or some other method, law enforcement will be dispatched to round up the guns from the non-compliant.

Notice I said round up the guns, not arrest the non-compliant. During this phase, amnesty will in all probability still be extended. The gun owners that did not surrender their guns at a collection station will do so now, when cops are on their porch, in droves. Before you say that most cops are like “us” and would not do such a thing to their neighbors and fellow citizens, that may be true, but practically will make no difference.

There will be many among them that will have no qualms about enforcing the law if that law was enacted according to customs and legislative process of the United States. “Law Enforcement” is in the job description.

There are undoubtedly also many who would have no part of the proceedings, either deliberately whiffing on the task at hand or resigning. In the event of a mass refusal to comply, they will without question be fired or reassigned and replaced with cops who will do the job.

If, during this phase, a gun owner decides he isn’t going to take this crap and go all 1776 on “the Man,” a response team, SWAT, SRT, whatever you want to call it, will be dispatched to bring out the recalcitrant subject and then collect his guns. If he resists or is perceived to be a threat to either officers or public he will be engaged with lethal force. And that’s that.

Then What?

The obvious question here is would enough high-profile standoffs take place, and in enough numbers, to start to have a catalyzing effect on governmental will, or the rest of the public’s stomach to see such seizures carried out until the guns are removed from the land? This is very grim and dark territory, and luckily I think such a scenario is far, far away.

Even luckier, we are in no position to even have to make such a decision, or ponder such an outcome: The Ballot Box is far more effective than the Cartridge Box at this juncture. Make sure you are part of the solution, not part of the problem, by getting active politically on local and federal levels. Join the gun rights organizations of your choice on, again, state and national levels.

Volunteer. Rally. Fundraise. Call every single one of your elected representatives and spell out exactly what you expect from them when a bill on gun control rears its head. After you do that, write them. Have your friends and family do the same. Apathy or blithe self-assurance that “someone” is doing “something” to combat the rabid Leftists and their scheming is tantamount to helping them do it.

Get involved!

Conclusion

A sweeping gun-ban is possible in the U.S., and in some states, probable. Confiscation, while far less likely, has more political capital than it has had in decades, perhaps ever. We as gun owners and citizens cannot sit idly by and watch this political and social maneuvering unfold against us until we are neutralized. Do not trust to anyone else to ensure your rights are being spoken for.

What are the Odds of a U.S. Gun-Grab?

Waiting On God To Answer Prayers

Growing up, I often asked myself impatiently, “How can I keep faith while waiting on God to answer prayers?” I still sometimes reach that point even today-human nature. I thank God even when things become hard and I cannot believe God anymore, He [God] has continually shown me through His word how to wait on […]
