Homestead Blog Hop will take place every Wednesday featuring real food recipes, natural health remedies, DIY, crafts, Gardening Tips, and more...

Welcome to the Homestead Blog Hop!

There’s a new kid on the block! Mama Kautz is not going anywhere, but WholesomeFamilies.org is going to be where the majority of my time is spent. The homeschooling and prepping content will stay here. All wellness and essential oil content will be moved.
I have been a blogger for 10 years and feel now is the perfect time to do a rebranding if you will.
I hope you will join me over there!

Now on to the hop…
Homestead Blog Hop will take place every Wednesday and is for all things homesteading: real food recipes, farm animals, crafts, DIY, how-to’s, gardening, anything from-scratch, natural home/health, self-sufficiency, self-reliance, natural remedies, essential oils, & more! Basically anything related to homesteading.

Homestead Blog Hop every Wednesday featuring real food recipes, natural health remedies, DIY, crafts, Gardening Tips, and more...Welcome to the Homestead Blog Hop!

Oy what a crazy week we have had here in North Idaho. HUGE windstorm last week has left people STILL in the dark. Thankfully we aren’t one of them. I would be fine without power for a week. Well, fine in that we would be ok. I would miss the interwebs though.
Have you ever lost power for more than a day?

Welcome to the Homestead Blog Hop!

Oh what a doozy of a windstorm, last night, here in the Inland NW. They clocked one gust at Mission Ridge at 100+ mph. We lost around 11 trees, power for 10 hour (Thank you Inland Power!), wifi and land line are still down.
I was ready with a charged Baofeng handheld radio, lamp oil, and flashlights. Youngest boy and I even cooked soup on the wood stove.

Are you prepared for a windstorm?
