I have an internship in Vancouver for the summer, and the place I was intending to stay fell through. This is a huge blessing to me, actually, because I want to go off-grid for the summer. If anybody has a place I can throw up a tent and park my car for a couple of months, I would appreciate it immensely!
We are a family living in the south of germany in the black forest.
Its a nice area, lovely nature and very safe.
We are looking for other families who would like to share the experience of going off grid.
Idea mainly is; build a sustainable lifestyle, own water, growing food, own heating, have animals like sheeps or lamas for the wool, build a wood/cob house with solar cells, etc.
just contact us, and see what flows.
I am a single man of 43 years. I was a carpenter for 16 years and I now have an AS degree in residential construction. I know photovoltaics, 110/220 volt electrical systems, and basic plumbing. I want to be a self-sustaining farmer away from the city, producing as much as I consume. I plan on a vegetarian diet so I will only raise laying hens for eggs and a nanny goat for milk. I would also like to grow building materials like timber and hemp.

My wife and I really want to move off grid. We just don’t want to do it alone. We are tired of working everyday just so we can live paycheck to paycheck. We want to be able to live of the land.we want to be able to have a life where we are not so focused on things that are not important. We want to find a group of people who feel the same way. We just don’t know exactly how to start out. So once we find people we can plan everything out together. I am a truck driver, and my wife is a certified nursing assistant. We both love the outdoors. I am 27 and my wife is 20. We are looking for people who are hard working, fun, and have a great attitude. Thanks for your time, and we look forward to hearing from all who are interested.
I’m looking to purchase land in southern New Hampshire, United States soon (Currently I live in Rhode Island), and am looking for a few other like minded individuals to help me in this task. I have a specific idea of what I am looking to accomplish, and am very open minded to including the ideas and goals of others.
My initial goal is to homestead and be self sufficient in life, being able to wake up and fall asleep with the sun, eliminating the day to day hassle of our consumer culture, which never really resonated with me. I am a blacksmith and a welder as well and enjoy working with my hands. I am not an expert in farming/gardening but I bring a fair amount of knowledge there as well as a little in keeping chickens and bee keeping. I would ideally look for people who have skills to compliment mine but am open to anyone with passion and desire.
My long term goal is to grow enough food where we are able to help low income families by providing low cost organic food to there. Growing up with only my mother and two siblings food was not abundant and while my mom made sure we never went hungry, that would often mean less diversity in our meals. I wish to do my part in ensuring families can have the ability to add healthy ingredients to their diets.
Those are my goals and my current ability levels more or less, I’m currently reading books and volunteering on farms to increase my knowledge. I would like to hear back and meet up with anyone interested in southern New Hampshire. My E-Mail address is email@example.com I look forward to hearing from you.
Do you want to go back in time, buy an island, and live without running water and electricity and fish and garden and tend to chickens and rabbits and pick mangoes and coconuts and pineapples and live at the equator where the weather is perfect year-round? Us too – but we can’t afford an island and boat on our own – so if we can get several families to go in together and make this dream a reality, great! Christians encouraged to contact us. But we don’t discriminate. call and leave a message if you get voice-mail. I don’t have a good signal often, so at times my phone doesn’t ring. I’m in northern Arizona now. four-eight-zero-two-zero-two-three-four-zero-three. I listed this in the bahamas as I’m hoping that’s the area where we can go – maybe off the coast of honduras or something.
I live in New Jersey. I want to live off the grid and learn what I need to do to enjoy living sustainably and doing no damage to the earth. Anybody that can reach out to me and help each other in doing this would be awesome.
Hi I’m 31 white male Army veteran, medically discharged, and have been traveling around tent camping and living off grid much as I can on free forests I run into. As a veteran,I know primitive survival skills from native Americans and know how to train people for this as well. I know how to build shelters, fences anything with wood with axes or saws. I can garden, know plants that you can eat or use for medicinal uses. Just looking to stay at a place long term like permanent and be a happy off grid community. I’m a hippie very peaceful, drama free and very loving guy. Hit me up if you want to know more about me or have a place I can help join you all out.
My fiance andrew (24) myself Jordyn (23) – a vegan – and our daughter Ellieana(7 months) NEED to go off grid. We have a goal to eventually have land for animals with no home to have a sanctuary. We want to grow our own food and create a 100% self sustaining vegan life off nature! We believe in the universe and trust in it as well. We do not judge, and believe we are all one. We believe in natural healing and are marijuana advocates. Andrew can weld, work with wood, plumbing we both garden and cook and are so up for learning more. we know there are people out there like us so lets do this!!!
There’s some beautiful land up near the Canadian border in MN, lot of acres, but i don’t have the money so…
I would like people who want to live with nature and as humanely as possible in north/central US. I’d rather not have meat or dairy but if i had to choose a meat it would be fish.
I realize I’m not easy to get along with and I’m not healthy (i’d like to think I’d recover in a natural environment but i have no guarantee of that and will still have some issues, you can see my profile on here for more info) but i think i have a fair solution, after a trial period if anyone, i don’t care who you are, male female or third, if you’re or i’m a bother and not doing the work, you or i are out, votes can be cast at that time. And be honest, i don’t want a group of everyone secretly hating each other. Also i don’t want a bunch of mind games, no “Go do something… You didn’t do what i wanted!” Bull, if you want something either say so or accept not getting it.
i want a community of people in north central US, that get along but can still mind their own business. A computer lab i think, videogame hookups, limited time slots, we don’t need everyone online 24/7. Fun is fine but work is important, we’ll need a balance.
Again, more info on my profile.
I won’t be able to go for a while unless it’s within a certain area and i can leave once a month or so for about a day.
My wife and I are retiring soon and will be travelling around the BC coast looking for just the right property for 1 or 2 years. We only need a couple acres for food production but more land is needed for a wood supply and greater chance of workable wind, water and solar power installation. So.. many more acres are needed simply to increase the chances of a place for a windmill, have creek/river flowing .. or open area for solar. We are happy to have the greater distance from others.. but still.. a larger expense for what will be less than another couple acres actually utilized.
I am wondering if there is anyone else considering the BC coast that might be interested in purchasing a larger land area for the same reasons.. and the possibility of co-purchasing land (homesteading on opposite sides) to reduce the cost but still have the privacy and ownership. For growing, we are looking to stay in a fairly temperate range .. mid Vancouver island (east side) or mainland in same latitudes. We are also considering mid central BC. We would share the common land and collaborate in some ways, but not looking for a ‘cohabitation’ per say.. or a support mechanism.. pretty much separate homesteads with a common land area for wood/solar/wind/water power generation shared for common cost saving in land.

Hello, I’m Wes (22) and my boyfriend is Leo (21). We are wanting to move off-grid and start a life with nature. We’ve spent the last several months researching different building methods and what it actually takes to live off the grid. As it stands we could build a home from recycled/natural materials, but we lack electrician and gardening skills. We are open minded hard working individuals looking to make a difference wherever we may end up.
We currently live and work in Edmond OK, and we have some income but are not wealthy. As it stands we do plan on keeping our job during construction to have some money coming in to help with the building and other expenses. If there’s temporary living quarters we could devote almost all of our income to the project. We are very passionate about living in harmony with our world and nature, and we will always strive to be valuable assets to any off-grid community.
Oh, we also have a cat that would be coming with us. He’s a large (not fat) silver tabby who would make a wonderful barn cat.
My husband and I are South Africans living in China. We came here to make some money but we are looking for like minded people who want to join us in our endeavor. I have farming experience and am good with animals and my husbnd is a bit of a towny but he is a fast learner. We were think Hungary or Bulgaria just because of property prices being so low. Suggestions?

We are looking to join someone that already has land
My skills include
Basic gunsmithing skills
An all around general knowledge of construction

What we do want is to grow our own food , learn how to live as generations before, and to be free from the puppet strings of society
If we seem to suit what you are looking for please respond to this post and thank you for reading
PS we do have two cats also

Hello my name’s Bruce I have been dreaming about going off-grid and trying to push the boat out for a long while. I’m not afraid to say I need help setting this up, basically I don’t know where to start
location would ideally be nearer the Bristol area. as I would still like to keep a part of the modern life socially and a life full of culture.
My ideal situation is to build my own little tiny home for a family for the future. Ideally this home will be 100% off grid, made from recycled parts, or at least working towards being fully self-sufficient (designs still being finalised). I have an understanding about planning law in the UK being a building surveyor. Ideally there would be a business stream to help others experience off-grid living and help support the community.
I’ve been dreaming about being self-sufficient on the land and it is always continuously changing . I love the idea of permaculture, and polycropping. however I have been intrigued with the idea of going a forestry garden and working with nature and the soil. I have personally tried many different ways to improve soil.
I’m a building surveyor by trade. With an extensive building background knowledge 10 years.
I have grown up on a farm, and the household garden and allotment has always been a thing through my childhood through to adult life. currently have an allotment in Bristol where I have been trying out different ideas. no dig, perennial Vegetable growing.
I am a keen forager, a mushroom foraging for at least 3 years
Also a keen bushcraft background, and living off the land.
- Many other skills if you want to talk let me know.
What I’m looking for and when others decide to join we (list might change):
I would love to get a community of a few people (family) to live together and work the land off grid and self sustaining, with a vision of potentially any business Adventures which might come from this.
Ideally this person (or family) would have the capacity to help purchase land with me or If this is not in your capacity land renting/leasing. Or other agreed methods of exchange.
This is not essential, would love to have people who are keen in new education, away from the broken system.
Who is creative in their own way musically or other.
- Again not essential but who is into holistic healing.
You can email me directly but please leave a note on off-grid.net Just in case your email gets spammed

Hello. My name is Harry. Im 21 years old and I live in Wales. Im an electronics technician and I build security systems for prisons. However, this does not resonate with who I am and my life purpose. I spend most my free time in the forest studying the different plants and trying to teach myself basic survival skills. I am quite a spiritual and philisophical person and for a very long time I have had a burning desire to make the world a better place. I would be absolutely over the moon if anyone could offer me a place in an off-grid community where I could learn new skills and be provided with food and shelter in exchange for my hard work. If anyone can help me with this, please do, I would be so grateful! I don’t mind where in the world it is, I will travel as far as I have to!
Hi everyone I’m going off grid and it’s going to be a long hard Road I’m doing this with the relatively very little equipment and I’m not going to a homesteader I’m going out into the wilderness and building a shelter and staying there for as long as humanly possible I don’t like the term living off the land I prefer the term living with the land I’m giving up every single comfort that I’ve ever had in my entire life I just feel like Society has nothing left to offer me and I have nothing left to offer Society I don’t like the way the world is going we have all become our possessions it’s no longer who you are as a person but it’s what you own that makes you who you are successfulness is measured by what you have material possessions you’re not successful unless you have a big bank account a big house an expensive car that’s not what I want I don’t want to live my life living for the weekend I just want to live I’ve been reading a lot of Henry David Thoreau Alan Watts and Terence McKenna and I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to do this so I’m posting on here to see if there’s anyone else that feels the way I do things the way I do and would like to join me cuz it’s I don’t really want to have to buy a volleyball and paint a face on it haha my attempt at a joke also if anybody else out there has done this before what I’m about to do and has any advice or suggestions and gear or gear changing please by all means contact me my gear consists of Crossbow bolts both big and small game tips Sub-Zero sleeping bag Sub-Zero rated Thermo tent entrenchment tool skinning knife K Bar machete rain gear waterproof and insulated boots winter gear summer gear Flint fire starter kits a fairly advanced first aid kit lots of paracord fishing cord fishing hooks a couple traps and snares Hammerhead Hatchet tarp duct tape flare gun cast net a saw rope
I am ready to buy a peice of land and go off grid, and am looking for a female who is wanting to do the same.
I am male, 31 yrs old and fit and healthy, i am fed up of being a modern day legalised slave lining the pockets of the rich and having no social life of my own.
I have money to get us started and would like it to be a joint thought about and planned move.
Message me if your interested
Done with working 60 hours a week as a carpenter and general builder, I get no satisfaction because all cash payed jobs on this planet only benefit the 13 families that enslave us in this make belief world of excessive consumption. I spent 8 years in the British army and learned some useful skills until I realised that instead of protecting civilians, were protecting the economic interests of the very rich. I am looking to go off grid somewhere tropical preferably near the ocean so I can surf. Either in an existing community, or a fledgling … I have great skills to offer, I am inclined towards the Pacific coast of south America, but an open minded. I would be happy to hear from like-minded souls who have similar ideas. Feel free to contact me on firstname.lastname@example.org
Best regards Andy.
We are a conscious couple who are interested in going off grid with other conscious people. If we all work together we can make it happen! Send us a message and we can discuss how we can make this happen 🙂
I am 30 single male Marine looking to join an off grid community. I’m a jack of all trades kind of guy, good at most things, master of none. Skills include carpentry, metal work, pottery, culinary, hunting, film production, home remedy, etc. I work hard and learn quickly. I am open minded, symbiotic, easy going. I enjoy building things, learning, friendly competition, sports, outdoor activities, puzzles, story telling, music. The idea of being resourceful, working for the land to have it work for you, building and making things with your own hands, providing for others, living minimally and intentionally, working together for the community- all of it is deeply inspiring and I want to help cultivate that. All that I prefer is a community in the pacific northwest, BC, Alaska, etc., but open to other areas.
I’m not a big fan of mainstream religions. I believe in common narratives that have moral value. I believe “god” is the explanation of things humans are unable to comprehend. I believe in the golden rule, karma, and positive energy. I believe nature is our source of energy and living harmoniously with each other in nature is the way of life.
Contact me if you have or are looking to start a community that you think I could fit into. Thanks and blessings to you.
I am a 25 year old male that has long grown tired of the everyday 9-5 small talk world. I wish to create or help create with others a place of harmony. A completely self sufficient “farm”, and animal rescue property. Preferably some where far enough away from the city to where we could have small music events every now and then. I have money to invest, but I need guidance and help of others students and teachers. Not looking to set up a halfway house, but a house that goes further. Also we need a bus. Please let me know if you are interested at all!
I am looking to start my own homestead and try to live off the grid. Or as much as possible anyhow. I have proficient building and problem solving skills. I am a skilled hunter and gardener. I have spent countless hours researching different ways to become self sufficient. I feel to begin with I would need to maintain some kind of income to support the homestead development. I am not a materialistic person nor do I need all the fancy luxuries of modern day society. I would like to meet others like me and brainstorm/discuss different ideas. Even with the extensive research I have done, I understand that I most likely only possess a fraction of the knowledge needed to make this life possible. If you are interested in discussing this with me, I would be happy to chat.
My name is Mary. I’m 26 years old. I study the word of god and alternative medicine. I have over the course of several years been driven up to my wits end with the way our society (and increasingly world) works.
Nothing makes sense. Wealth over health, Kim kardashisn as role model of how a female should look and behave, Trump as the new president. I feel like we are living in the end times or are about to undergo a metamorphosis of consciousness into the enlightened multifaceted spiritual beings I always thought god designed us to be.
The society to me resembles one big psych ward without the organization that should go along with it. R.F.I.D chips? What’s next will we be charged for the air we breath. Someone catch me I am falling gasping for air.
Besides the rant I really do need to live a life that supports my holistic approach. I want to network with other like minded people and build a eco, spiritual, solar panel community. A place where everyone has their own role critical to development and survival of the community. Caring about your neighbors. A community vegetable garden optional, and so much more. Been looking to organize all my ideas and thoughts with the right people and set this plan in motion, and finally materialize the golden reality-your own rent/mortgage free home and food you know without a shadow of a doubt is healthy and soundly nutritious! Oh my my heart spins like a gerbil on the wheel with excitement thinking about this! Who’s with me? Get in contact me and we can help each other make our dreams come true! God bless
I’ve just turned 30, worked all my life for the system and was one of the unfortunate ones to not get ahead or in a mass of debt for a home.
I’m seeking a land owner anywhere in the Rep. Of Ireland, preferably towards the South / South East for best growing conditions. If anyone is interested in meeting a like minded human being, looking to make a break for freedom and buy some land please get in contact ( email@example.com )
Land is currently at 4-8000 Eur an acre, depending on location. Permaculture, horticulture, hard work and freedom.. Politics and Religion I respect but I don’t really have much time for them.. Although there is nothing wrong with healthy debate, as long as war doesn’t break out!
Ireland is a beautiful country, mystic and rich in everything one would need to survive. I would be very interested in making an earning from excess produce and keeping in touch with friends and family, ultimately though creating a life in the country is my main objective. I have a number of construction skills, husbandry skills and a great work ethic ( as long as it’s for myself and not some tycoons profit )
Life can easily leave people bitter and I understand that now, so I now choose to live from the land and tap back into the moral compass that Brehons once thought.
Anything else you would like to know please get in contact, serious like minded people please get in touch and I wish you the best o luck…
Hi guys, I’m planing to go off grid and I’m searching for people that can share with me information about going off grid on south of Chile or Argentina.
To move more deep inside the unpopulated areas of Tierra de Fuego Chile (is my preferred location and not too distant of Ushuaia to have some “near” towns to get supplies when need) I was thinking on buying two horses to transport the initial equipment and tools to start the building of my long term house/cabin, and have been asking-me how difficult is going to be to maintain the horse well on winter.
Another thing that I was thinking was on a second step buy some sheeps and goats for meat, wool and milk. So If you like this idea and want to discuss about it, send me a message.
Hey, I’m a man, age 18, an aspie (look it up) and I’ve wanted to go off the grid for a while. Why? I was ruined by a system that I would like to save myself from, and others in hopes of creating a better future… and I want to have fun and mess around with my own projects, such as creating a blast-furnace in my backyard (to be completely honest 🙂 ). I don’t have a lot of experience with independent living, so that would be an ideal characteristic in a partner. What I do have though – I am an amateur woodworker and some people have called me a genius, that’s got to count for something. I’d like to live in Vermont where I go to school now, but I’m open to other locations and we can discuss details later. I’m looking for any number of people who are motivated and trustworthy, roughly my age. Oh, and no smoking or drugs. If you’re interested, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Happy new year
I’m looking for like minded people who are interested to share ideas about off-grid technologies, minimalist lifestyles and tiny house designs. I’ve already done a lot of research which I’m sharing free to the public. It can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/916277685125905/. Feel free to join my group or contact me. At the present time I’m working on my solar system for my off-grid camping trailer.
When I 1st started I thought it would be easy. Move 2 arizona or new mexico. I want 2 live solar, away from others, & live happy ever after. Wrong. I am not qualified 4 a loan. I make more than enough. I have 3 dogs & a dedicated hubby. Believe u believe in whatever u want 2. Finding an already made place very difficult. Any ideas out there?
Hi everyone, my name is Louis and i am looking for like minded people to start a small community in Quebec. I am 28 year old God fearing Christian(i do not impose my views on others but i appreciate open mindedness) that wants to live a more simple life, community focused and healthier living. I have enough savings to buy a few acres of lumber land and materials but, where and how are the biggest issue. I can travel to Montreal and Quebec city for meeting up. Can’t wait to hear from you!
I want to disappear. i have strong survival instincts and im a logical thinker. i can cook, hunt, fish, build with what nature gives me, and i have some medical experience. i have a plan, and a goal. looking for any one who has a straight head on there shoulders. contact me if this interests you. leaving by the end of december/ beginning of january. email@example.com
A big hearty hello to all you like minded people. We are a couple that are very eager to go the off grid life style in a cob house, raising animals and growing plants.
I have mechanical skills (ex army mechanic) and definitely on the “can do anything scale so long as I watch enough Youtube videos first”….even then if it is not on there I would get a book, pay someone to show me, trade labour if they can show me something new or just keep doing it until I get it good enough.
Our plan is to get 10-20 acres of forest and live in it, which we know will be quite the battle. Not so interested in the whole commune idea but very like minded neighbours a 10 minute walk away would be lovely.
If you have similar interests then I think we are stronger together, even if only to discuss solutions to problems. Get in touch alan0732 ( at ) gmail.com

I’ve always wanted to put my skills and my mind set to its full potential, the way I see it is going off the grid with little to nothing is the best way to fulfill my dream. Im looking for a partner to go with ME, so if you think you have what it takes to live like bears with me let’s do it
male or female gender doesn’t matter to me

I have conservation skills and practical woodland skills.
Old World AquaFarm is an 11 acre setting. We have a 30 x 72 foot greenhouse, 2400 square foot barn and the land is fenced. There are 6 adults and 3 children. nearby schools and shopping. We are raising our own food for us and the animals without chemicals or pesticides. Our first tiny cabin is in place (16 x 24 feet). We have our own water, sewer, ect. Power is optional. We want our place to be totally sustainable and off grid eventually. We have designed a new type of growing system for food. It is similar to AquaPonics yet we call it AquaFarming. Visit us at www.facebook.com/OldWorldAquaFarm for lots of video and information. Our website is currently being revised as we do not sell any products. We do accept donations. We are building everything from scratch. This is an experiment to prove we can support 30-50 people on 11 acres. We will grow our own food, meat, fish, fruit and medicinal plants. We need structured individuals who are willing to donate thier time and some money to the project. It is a drug free community. We are considering committing to a reality network. This will be a self contained, hybrid, docu-sitcom format. People will be voted on and off. Audience participation will be in effect. There is nothing easy about this project. We are going to build a community of people working together for a common goal. We will follow all federal and state laws as well as the community rules to the best of our abilities. This is not a cult. Every individual will practice thier own religious values if any. You can email us for questions and to submit an application to be part of the initial community. (email@example.com) Your request to be part of this community should include your skills, physical ability, members of your group, and any other information you wish to include. Children are welcome.

Hi my name is Brian, I’ve always wanted to do this . Wanted to wait until my kids were grown. I’m 44 and I’m in good health. I’m a former Marine and I’m really serious about doing this. I’m easy going and can compromise. I know I can do this physically I just don’t have enough knowledge of some stuff. Or you could say experience. But I do have common sense and that should help alot. I’m just tired of all the hustle and bustle and people judging on what you have or don’t have. I want to feel free and alive in nature. I haven’t decided yet on were I would go but I’m thinking somewhere Northwest if serious let me know.

My partner (29 years old) and myself (24 years old) would like to put our experience and skills together to start a self sufficient homestead with veggies, fruits, permaculture plants, perennials, chickens, sheep, pigs, honey bees, medicinal herbs, and dairy goats. We have a combined 10 years of experience in gardening, farming, and livestock care.
If you have land we would love to start an amazing homestead there. In exchange for the use of your land we would provide you with the bounty of what we grow and could help upkeep the property. If this sounds cool to you, get back to us and we can see if we make a good fit! We are responsible, polite, and animal lovers.

I will be purchasing land in SE Oklahoma. This will be mostly wooded, pine and oak. There will be electricity and internet due to my work. I am looking for select individuals to help out.
About me, I have a full time job, but I am tired of the rat race. I am single, and 56 years old. I love the outdoors, and I just want to get back to the simple things in life and do what I once loved doing. Female companionship would be welcome.
Im looking for an Eco friendly community to live together with Raw Vegans. Do you know any community in the tropics (because of the fruits) where they are taking in new members. I want to leave My life here in Sweden and live and work together with mother nature and other likeminded people. Maybe in Costa Rica or Hawaii. If you know anything please contact me.
Hello i’m looking like minded people to go off grid somewhere in ontario preferred. Me and my wife are 30 years old i have worked as a auto mechanic for last 10 years. Looking to purchase land and build small no drugs or alcohol community. I am looking to make it as efficient as possible. I have good knowledge on building things from nothing or junk. Looking for kind individuals that can contribute in anyway possible.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
My email address is email@example.com please email for quicker response.
I am a 36 year old white male living in Florida. I am looking to get out of here, as the climate is awful, it’s too coastal, and there are a million laws against living off grid. I do have 2 advanced science degrees and a great job, but not true fulfillment. I am scared with the state of the country, and the world. Things are on a destructive course that I don’t think can be reversed anymore. I am a 9 year Army vet, with 5 in Spec Ops, so I do have strong survival skills and experience. I’m looking at disappearing in the woods somewhere in TN, AL, WV, NC or somewhere similar. I have all the gear I need and just am looking for a companion. Someone to talk to, look out for each other, and have my back during the zombie apocalypse. I don’t have any family, and no real ties to anyone, so when I say I want to disappear I mean that completely. No cell phone or computer, no ties to modern conveniences or the grid, no way for the government to track and oppress me or put me in some FINA camp once matrial law starts. If you’re interested in joining me on this permanent, life-changing adventure, contact me and tell me about yourself. I am looking to do this sooner than later for sure.
Looking to get off grid living started and maybe join a community of off gridders – start a new chapter in my life as I am sick and tired of having to pay every tax possible also living in a shared house has become so expensive now days buying a house is out of the question I would relish the opertunity to make my life my own and not continue the rat race of life
couple looking for land lease or to join existing people living off grid. We have lived this way for a number of years, have a yurt, compost toilet and shepherds hut /gypsy waggon, planning has not been supported in our current location and currently living in a house, really want to get back to the lifestyle we want to live! If anyone can help that would be amazing!
SWM looking for some adventure. I grew up in a farm – hunting, fishing, building and growing crops and cattle. I have also been taught in primitive survival learning to survive from the land. The skills that I have obtained in the 35 years that I have been alive have become quite futile in the world I’m currently living in. My aim is to get off grid, Maybe the Alaska region, and start my life from “the ground up” I’m not in this for romance, though that might be an option, and I’m not gay though my travels may include a male if your up for the trip. Also if you know anyone that might want to make the trip, please include them as well. More hands on deck is always more helpful when your on your own. Contact me through phone, text or email
I am looking for at least 9 other people who would be interested in creating an Off Grid Community. We can connect and share our ideas online and get the process started. I would like to find a large piece of property in Oregon or Colorado and each of us could help each other build our homes, and get the areas prepared for us to live there. If this idea interests you then please contact me @ firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com please make sure to put “Interested in Off Grid Community” in the subject line so I will know that’s what you are contacting me about.
I have been learning more about finding ways to live off the grid. I would like to find a place where I can set up a small home with my partner and pets. We would like a place with lots of space without neighbors close by. We both have anxiety issues but we are open to meeting others with the same views we have about life and nature. What would be idea would be a large plot of land that we can divide up equally between all members of our community. If anyone would like to contact us about forming a community like this we would like to hear from you.
Originally from UK, currently living in Malaysia. My husband and I are eager to move to North East Mallorca and live off grid. We are seeking a situation with an OTG community or household that is either accepting new residents or would be able to rent a small living space to my husband and the furkids, until we are able to find suitable land or property for ourselves. We would be happy to help you develop and support your project in any way we can.
If you would like to have a chat or want to know more about us, please contact me by text/whatsapp or email.

I’m a 55 yr old woman who is ready to get out of the rat race. Looking for a few people with a few skills who want to pitch in on some land (preferably somewhere maybe in AL for the mild winters, cheaper land, and less astringent codes) and form a helpful community.
I have a lot of reasons for wanting to be out in the woods, secluded… some of those reasons have to do with the peace of mind I feel when I get away from people noises and into nature. Other reasons have to do with the what I can no longer tolerate in today’s society. Other reasons have to do with the fascination of being able to live somewhat comfortably and cheaply by using off grid technologies.
There’s something fulfilling about providing 90% of your own food, lights, shelter, and water. It’s pretty nice when the electric grid goes down and you’re situation doesn’t suffer a bit.
But I can’t do it alone, so I’d like to find a few people with my value systems. I tried this once with 2 other people, and found out that I need to clarify what I can tolerate and can’t tolerate.
For instance, I don’t like animal neglect. If you’re going to get some chickens, don’t crowd them in a small box day in and day out feeding them gmo cheerios until they’re so big and crowded they start pecking each other to death. Don’t leave 19 bags of trash sitting out in your yard where others have to deal with your fly breeding.
I don’t mind some noise and maybe a bonfire party about once a month, but basically, I like peace and quiet so I can listen to nature.
I like my own space and privacy, but I do also enjoy working as a group to help each other with our projects. It shouldn’t be hard to have some of both.
It’s really hard to lay everything out, and foresee what’ll crop up when you get a group of people together but if we are all on the same basic page, have the same basic value systems, we can collaborate most anything.
Anyone on here think like me?
Have a great job (18+ years), stable income, own my home (No Debt).
Looking to relocate, area not as important to me as what the area offers (lower taxes, less restrictions on how you build …..).
Time frame isn’t etched in stone.
Would love to find a like-minded female, who is looking for a similar situation. If you have the ideas running in your head, the way I do… I’d love to hear from you… Even if it’s just talking about what Ideas we have going on.
Hello, my husband and I are elders in the process of finding property near the Chiricahua’s (McNeal, Elfrida, Hereford) in Cochise county. We have good credit and have identified some properties perfect to get started on but we can’t do those alone. The other 2 we may be able to do alone but prefer not to (we have before and it was Hard work lol). September we are jumping out there and moving the travel trailer near Douglas to look at property. I would be caring for my mother most likely in the near future, though that may change but we have to have a house with some land. Having other folks join us in the financing of and living on/in the property seems reasonable to us because we as a group could get more space with combined funds. It’s relatively cheap living at Twin Buttes RV Park while we look so we will be there if anyone cares to come and talk to us. You can also reach us at firstname.lastname@example.org for updates and moving schedule.

I’m interested in looking into the feasibility of large-scale dirt cheap housing (like living out of a car). Ideally, I would take any successes and try to provide housing for homeless or down-and-out members of the community. In order to do this, I need to try living in the conditions myself. If anyone has any suggestions or wants to try this with me, let me know. I am a recent graduate (early 20’s).

Hi everyone, I’m looking to live off-grid and create my own Kin’s Domain adjacent to other like-minded people. This has been inspired by reading the “Ringing Cedars” series of books. I’m looking for others who are similarly inspired. If you haven’t come across the books, do check them out, they are life changing! I would also be interested in people who haven’t read the books but are keen on living in close harmony with nature and practice permaculture principles. I’m presently located in the UK but would consider moving to another country in Europe (Brexit permitting). I’m looking for a hectare of rural land myself and ideally would expect the neighbouring plots to be similar in size. We would live independently but would share some resources and companionship as and when appropriate. I’m also looking for a life partner to do this with, I’m a 61 year old female, in good health with lots of useful skills.
Our family is purchasing 19 acres in the Prescott area and want to create an off-grid community where the land and resources can be fully utilized by like-minded people. We have searched for such a community but cannot find one, so we’re going to create it ourselves. We would welcome other individuals or families who can contribute to starting a small farm, building structures, and sharing skills in a cooperative spirit in exchange for fractional ownership in the land and shared infrastructure (well, solar, etc.).
Please contact us if you are in the Prescott area and have an interest in such a venture. We are not interested in religious affiliations, just cooperative homesteading with a desire to become group-sufficient.
I am a middle aged woman and full-time student with 2 dogs, looking for a chance to move out of town and get back to my rural roots. I am currently studying Environmental Science and hope to expand my education into the direction of Sustainability or another related and interdisciplinary direction. I prefer to be in Story County, Iowa, near Ames, as I plan to attend ISU for graduate studies. I am tired of town, tired of leash laws, tired of high living expenses, tired of an inefficient home and really tired of not being able to see the stars at night. I can’t afford to buy a decent sized piece of land but would love a small space to put a small, temporary off-grid home, perhaps rent a small patch from a like-minded landowner. I would like to join, or help to plan and build an off grid Eco-village or permaculture community, or help out on an organic farm. I think it would be really cool to get academic funding to establish a place where students could live or work and learn. I would love to work with a multicultural or multiracial group of people. I have farming and gardening experience, surveying experience, some construction skills, some planning and land use knowledge. I can cook. I am a hard worker, however, not as physically able as I used to be, so it would be good to team up with some able, young people. I have my faith but I am not looking for religious fanatics or separatists. I have my political views but I am not looking for extremists. I am all for supporting a movement but prefer to do so through education. I would love to make new friends, but I am not looking for a husband. If you have any questions for me you can reply on here Thanks!
I am planning to go off the grid within a year so I am definetly going to need help. I am planning on selling my home and buying 10-15 acres to build an earthship. Any advise or anyone that is interested in helping me please feel free to write me
I live and work in Shannon but have a house in Mayo I aim to go offgrid with by 2020.
I started a blog some time ago http://kilnageer.blogspot.ie/ and would like to link up with people in order to make the project as successful as possible and to maintain my enthusiasm. I haven’t blogged since 2012!
Are you also fed up with Ireland’s lack of PV microgeneration support and would like top be in control of your fuel bills?
It’s looking at the latest CSO figures for 2015 and earlier showing that 11,000 Ktoe is used and inported with less than 1/1000 of our needs coming from solar (i.e.12Ktoe). Not that we produce much anyway 2,000 Ktoe. That has fired me up again! (see http://www.cso.ie/px/pxeirestat/pssn/sei/Database/SEI/Energy%20Balance%20Statistics/Energy%20Balance%20Statistics.asp 1 ktoe = 11630000 kWh)
So let’s work together and come up with a well documented, step by step guide to inspire people! I would also love to visit other people’s systems as have them visit mine!
I recently purchased 5 acres with amazing views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains and nearby lake. The location is relatively remote, with small towns nearby and larger Pueblo just 1 hour and 40 minutes away.
My goals are to build an earth-sheltered, super adobe round house and straw bale addition. I would also like to build multiple geodesic dome greenhouses and utilize wind turbine, solar and rain water catchment.
Before the home building, a water cistern and concrete septic must be installed. I have the permits and just need to start the work. I am open to others purchasing partial ownership or to using sweat equity for access.
I’m open to offers, let’s talk ……

I am looking for hard workers and people looking to start. Also looking for people with land or money to fund the project we would all have our own little piece of land. I am hoping for 1-5 acres per family. If this sounds like something you would like to try or help out plz email me at email@example.com
I am a white male, athletic, college grad, professional, and worried about the state of things. I have a great corporate job, but do not want to be part of the “rat race” anymore. I am a military veteran, avid outdoorsman, and grew up outside hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, and still enjoy doing all the same. I currently live in the south, but am looking to relocate anywhere for this. I am worried about the state of the country, and truthfully world, in general. The economy, terrorism, FEMA camps, police militarization, racial divisions, etc. I would love to go off-grid, and not be in or near a major population area for when it all collapses. I have strong survival and primitive skills, and would love to teach and learn. Honestly, I would be happy just disappearing completely into the woods somewhere and living a life of self-sustenance. I know it’s a long shot, but am hoping to find my partner to watch each other’s backs when the zombies are roaming around.
We are a young couple, we are welcoming a third person in our family this summer. Our son should be here June 2016. We are very driven and hardworking. We do not work 9-5 jobs, my partner is in the entertainment industry (stunt double, parkour athlete, coach, actor) and we also paint, give seminars on a lot of different subjects. We are spiritual rather than religious but w respect and love anyone that follows their heart and is authentic to themselves and those around.
We have amazing visions and goals that we want to achieve but we do not want to do it by ourselves as we see the beauty in community and gathering with like minded people. My partner has a variety of tiny home/ Earthbag home designs mocked up and excel sheets with budgets and estimates. We are ready to start this dream, first thing is first.. Land!
If you would want to talk, ask any questions or meet, don’t hesitate in contacting us!
I’m 35 years old, very fit, active and enthusiastic to get off the grid forever. I used to instruct bushcraft and wilderness survival and regularly wild camp and spend time outdoors. I worked as a countryside ranger, have current chainsaw and brushcutter tickets and experience, plenty of experience working in all weather and am intelligent and hardworking. Any opportunities for land, help etc, let me know. I can *really* help.
Hey, for several years I think about leaving the “race” of life and move to a more simple life that connect me back to my roots. i see how the technology gradually destroys our race, and i want to go back to a simpler life… I am a teacher in Israel and would love to move to any location where there are good people who want to live in peace and love …
me and my partner have been pouring over knowledge preparing ourselves in most aspects for off grid living everything from trapping to first aid I would like to find someone who is sane and wouldn’t mind having some extra hands around the property as well as some ideas to fund and help bring in funds for growth
our interests include: hunting, trapping, farming, ranching, crafting, primitive technologies, wildlife and nature knowledge, forging. and more.
it seems the more we learn the more we have to learn but such is so in all aspects of life, buying books upon books will only mentally prepare you so far I am looking to meet someone who is willing to share their slice of heaven preferrably improving it
we are planning within the next 1-5 years to live a more natural lifestyle
Ideally I would like to start with one person, but if you are a couple or group of friends don’t hesitate to contact me.
There are many chords to be carried out. Not all require intense physical exertion.
I am 28 and have money to invest in the dream of living off grid, a strong back to build with and the desire to do so. What I don’t have is anyone to join me. I don’t care for tree hugging or religious mumbo jumbo, I’m just looking for other skilled people, young or old, who wish to get out of the rat race.
I have spent the last 5 years of my life working the the oil patch in a dirty, industrial, fast paced, high stress lifestyle, and I want out!
I would like to build an Earthship style house(s) with private living areas and communal eating/social areas. Few chickens and goats and ponds for farming fish. With a cash crop to sell to cover taxes, upgrades and anything we are unable to produce ourselves.
I have mainly been looking for land in northern Ontario, this area seems to be the most realistic when it comes to cost for size. I am very skilled with chainsaws so clearing of wooded areas would be no problem.
If anyone is interested please contact me.
The post Looking for like minded people to go off grid. 2016 appeared first on Living Off the Grid: Free Yourself.
Like the rest of you, I have a drive, a Need, to GTFO of the rat race, slow down, and actually LIVE life, and not be burdened by bills piling up, rent/mortgage payments, or having the best of the best electronic devices. I’ve been everything from a business owner and living quite the good life, to down in the dumps, close to homelessness. I can’t bring myself to squat under a bridge, and beg people for money. I’d rather go out, make a place, live off the land, and in that time I have, craft, or find other ways to make a bit of money to survive on. (Really helps with a partner or 2, i.e why I’m here).
So a bit about me, my plan, goals, etc. My name is Kayan, I’m 33, will be 34 in April, 6’5 and decently built Scotsman, not in 100% shape, though, I know living off the land will bring it all back. I don’t have any ties to any set location, though Washington/PNW is calling my name and its close enough to me (I’m in Portland, OR) that with my plan (below) I can make it somewhere up here. My skills include lots of crafting skills from wood working, apprentice blacksmithing, a bit of carpentry, just a jack of trades I guess. I also have probably every survival manual or educational book from planting, building, explosives, just a whole ton of things. All of this is on my tablet, which even in the wilderness, will come with me (I have a way to charge it). So if I don’t know if, or if whoever I find doesn’t, my tablet will.
Now, I’m not starting with a lot of gear, i.e, hoping I can find someone who has the other half. Looking to have axe, hatchet, saw, good knife with cooking utensils pot/pan, etc, sharp stone, tent (might go tarp, love lean-to’s), mummy sleeping bag, military grade portable wood burning stove, 30 day meal bucket (stretch that to 60 days because…), 5lb bucket potato flakes, and various other foods, which without hunting at all is nearly 90 days food total, personal first aid kit, LifeStraw x2, paracord, emergency crank radio w/ flashlight and even a USB charger (i.e, tablet charger) few other items, all in all, right about $800 ish. (and, I’ll be at like…. 130lb ish on my back)
Now, what I’m looking for is a partner(s), someone who has a drive to get things done, learn, and share knowledge with. I’m quite a nice guy actually, friendly, and I compromise. I am really needing someone who can fill in the rest of the items I’m forgetting/missing, or if you already have the item, and think “we” need something else, that’s bloody perfect, I want to go out with all of the proper items. Here’s the MAIN thing… Someone who has a gun for hunting. I just don’t have it in my budget for one, and so far living in the USA for nearly 20 years, I haven’t needed one, though I’m a good shot.
As of right now, I’ve just been pricing everything, figuring out what I need to live off the land, even if I don’t find someone. I’m actually selling my car (little 93′ mazda) and the last of my main electronic items, since I won’t need them. (I have till the 21st of MARCH to decide where I’m going point blank, since I’m selling my car by the 23rd, if I have to drive somewhere to meet you/you have the best spot, now is the time) Since I haven’t bought any items as of yet, this is the Perfect time to get ahold of me, and plan things. I’m looking to do this by about the 1st of April at the latest. (Quick jest of it, I’m caught up with roomies, don’t want to pay another month rent, bills, etc) So this is my last hoorah so to speak.
Well, if you’ve made it to the end, and this sounds like something you’d like to do, please message me here. Good luck to everyone in their travels!
I want to move out west and I’m looking for a like minded person to share knowledge and experiences with. I might live in Nc but I don’t want to stay here. Funds are low right now that’s why summer of 2017 I plan to make my way out west and start training myself to the elements.

I’m a 33 year old Male married with a daughter. Long story short I ran away from a group at 14 and went to work at a real estate company on the construction end. By the time I was 20 I was over all residential and commercial projects. I can basically build a home from beginning to end. So after talking to the wife we both love the outdoors, and thought about finding land and building or home from the land but without having the income to purchase land…I decided to Google and see what’s out there and it landed me here…we also have 3 dogs who or like or kids . so long story Short. If anyone has land that would like to trade for my carpenter skills… Open to suggested places any were in the united states.or would like to know more about us.please email. Orwoodtech1633@gmail.com
First I will share a quote from an old book of mine. “Your life is a story, be proud of the pages you write.”
I am a 27 year old male and I’m part of a family sized group. We are 3 adults, 3 teenage children, and 2 young ones. Living off grid and creating a life for ourselves, independent of non-personal rule, is a goal of ours. We are seeking others who want to do the same!
We are open to all possibilities. Ultimately though, we are seeking a large enough area of land to purchase and utilize effectively. We’re talking green houses, renewable energy, healthy living, art, music, building, research&record, inventiveness, togetherness- Co-Creation!
We bring many skills and abilities to the table. I have created a list of potential options. I have found various areas of land for sale. We have money and would be willing to combine funds with other people to achieve these things!
I know we’re not the only ones currently doing this. We believe it’s the best path to a life worth living. Knowing how to live independent of grocery stores, electric companies, gov’t agencies, etc. is probably one of the most valuable things an individual can have. Otherwise, you would still be dependent on things you have no control of.
Anywho, Looking for others who share a similar vision! We are thinking about Alaska. We are open to other places too! Central America looks like a solid option as well! This is our attempt to reach out because we would love to do this with other people.
Please do not hesitate to contact me. Looking forward to it!
All the best,
im a 49 yr old male divorced have two young strapping sons who dont live with me now but may choose to do so in the future..ive been looking for land for off grid living..but seem to always hit a brick wall with funds.example :a few months ago i found 20 acres with small cabin, pond, spring ,in middle tenn. the guy wanted 60k. i asked if he’d sale 10 acres and cabin/pond and he declined said he’d have a hard time selling the other ten so he wanted to sale as a package..im sure that this particular opportunity is long gone but im thinking if i had one,or two other people with similar goals it may make it easier to buy large tract of land and devide it equally…im wanting to be entirely self sufficient and FREE, away from the restraints of civilization..im open to any suggestions lets make this happen…
Hello, new to Georgia just moved here a week or so ago from the city the never sleeps (nyc) and I can say I am one step closer to that goal of being off grid.
I am looking for locals who share that same itch as I do that never seems to stop itching; An Off Grid Life.
Would like to do some hiking, camping and outdoors stuff. Talk about our Goals, plans, dreams … etc .. motivate one another and if we click and share a lot of the same things possibly even work together to get to where we want to go. Anyone who is up for this shoot me a message through email ValentinMos@aol.com. this website never sends me notifications so if you leave a comment below and i don’t respond within a few days just shoot me a email. I am thinking about taking on help to build a nice place to live. No longer working myself to death and I am getting to slow to finish everything I wish to get done here at Dirtwater. Living off my assets till benefits come and its use them or lose them. The climate here is good for off grid, it never stays below freezing long and summers are only above 100*F for a couple months per year. The wooded land I call Dirtwater is a thousand feet off of a back road and has some utilities. The hope is to build a simi-offgrid situation and become as self reliant as possible. I do like some comforts and toys, I don’t plan to become like a mountain man. Purists may be welcome but judgments will not be. Its all about working together to build something good, safe and comfortable with as little of the rat race as possible. If all goes well, the plan is to build a small stationary sawmill, blacksmith/fab shop and tiny portable homes. As a disabled veteran, I would seriously consider veterans. Young or old, vet or not, male or female, it doesn’t matter. I will respond and if we click, maybe I will bring you in. No free rides here, guests here will have to help me hold down the fort. If your a city dweller and want to live nearer the dirt, this may be the spot for you. Its in the sticks but not far from cities in a fairly well populated rural area. Very good school system here if that matters.
i am a 25 year old woman who has been wanting to live off grid but can’t do it alone. I love diy projects and very useful in every situation. Although I have some things to learn I wanna find someone who’ll have me.
